A brief word on how I rate a hotel. I don’t compare the hotels I stay in with the uber deluxe properties such as the Ritz Carltons, Westins, Marriotts and Hiltons. I look for value (price), location, comfort (a bed that easily holds my 6 foot, 1 inch [105 centimeters] body), en suite facilities, free or inexpensive breakfast, room for... More

we were driving around Normandy area in November and cameacross this quaint hotel on a country lane. There were not many people staying at that trime so we were able to have our choice of room (there were three of us). The Manager was very nice, spoke good english and made us very welcome. For those wishing to tour the... More

We had 3 very pleasant days at La Rosiere. The rooms are very clean and quiet with easy access to the car park and very pleasant gardens . It is ideally located for access to all of the D-Day museums and beaches. The owner and her husband were very helpful and friendly. This hotel is highly recommended.

My wife and I had three very pleasant days at La Rosiere. The location is perfect for seeing the D-Day beaches and also Bayeux is very easy to access by car. The owners were very helpful, answering every request quickly. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms were well kept, modern, and larger than I expected relative to other places... More

Last week, my husband and I took my 93-yr old father, a WWII veteran, to see the D-Day beaches. We chose La Rosiere for its central location, its handicapped facilities, and its protected car park. La Rosiere is in a beautiful rural setting with flowers, rose garden, and lovely trees. Our rooms were located on the ground floor so that... More

I enjoyed my stay at La Rosiere. To be honest my first choice would be to stay at the Hotel Ibis in Port-en-Bessin which is an outstanding place to stay, but La Rosiere would be my backup choice. Hotel La Rosiere is just south of Arromanches-les-Bains, right in the centre of the D-Day landing beaches and also very close to... More

Nice and very clean. We were allocated the disabled room which was fine. Tiled floors were cold, recommend slippers. Free safe deposit box. Excellent location between Bayeux and Arromanches. The welcome was professional and efficient rather than warm but we were recommended some excellent local restaurants which was nice. Would stay again.

This was a very nice B&B, not fancy, but very convenient to all of the Day sights. The room was typical for a French hotel - beds are ok, not plush. Bathrooms are nice. It is about a 5 min. drive to Bayeux or Arromanches, so there are plenty of options for restaurants, but you will need a car if... More

We stayed at La Rosiere for two nights in April 2011. The location is out in the country, so it is best for someone traveling by car. At one level, I thought it was a bit pricey for the size of rooms and amenities, but to the American traveler, a roomy parking lot, spacious grounds, solid bed, and plenty of... More

This is a delightful hotel ran by a husband, wife and teenage son. They were wonderful, helpful, and they made our stay very special indeed. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and includes a breakfast which was delicious. This was our first time in France and our French was very limited, they speak English and are very welcoming. We enjoyed... More
