Didn't know what to expect before we got there. Reviews were mixed, and overall, not the conventional B&B that one would expect (no online reservations, no credit cards accepted, etc), but I'm glad my wife, two kids (ages 3 and 14 weeks) and I went. Basically this farm is on a 210 acre piece of land with 4 or 5... More

What a charming place and owner. We were a little frightened by the two negative reviews, and my wife is a STICKLER for cleanliness, but we found it to be just fine. And what a bargain! And such beautiful land. 200+ acres, wonderful little hikes, you have the complete run of the place. The little wood stove in our cabin... More

We stayed here for a weekend and it was almost perfect in every way. I can't comment on the cottages, since we stayed in the suite attached to the house (though the one couple we met on the property seemed to like their accommodation and had been coming for years), but we found it to be just what we needed.... We arrived on Monday for a five night stay. Mr. & Mrs. Dixon met us at the "main house" before showing us to our cabin. We felt at home instantly. The cabin has an older decor but clean and well stocked. No television. We had to talk to each other and read/play games to pass time. The farm grounds are... More

If your idea of a cottage is a moldy, musty, mildew infested shack...this is the place for you!!!! The FILTHY carpet looks like it has been there since the 50's and was even in the bathroom and under a leaking a toilet. These people should be ashamed to rent and collect money off these rentals!!!! ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!! The outdoor cats... More

My wife and I spent our honeymoon on this farm back in November of 1990. 18 years and four children later, we decided (just the two of us) to make the trip back over the mountain for our anniversary. The beauty of the farm and the hospitality of its owners had not changed a bit! Mr. & Mrs. Dixon have... More

I am not sure what kind of people wrote a bad review of this place, but if you need time to relax and get back to the basics this is your place to stay. My family of 5 stayed at the farm for the weekend and it was the best experience we have ever had anywhere. The Farm is beautiful... More

A few years ago, my family and I decided to go to the Shenandoah Valley for three nights as part of our annual family vacation. My mom searched for accomodations on the internet and came across The Shenandoah Valley Farm and Inn. Their website impressed us, and the pictures they displayed of their guest cottages were very pleasing. My mom... More
