I first stayed here a year ago and was pleasantly surprised. This year it was maybe a little better--new paint and decor, etc. Very nice, very clean, good rates, friendly management. I used to stay in a motel in Amherst, but this is head and shoulders better. Only a few things to note: 1. Bring shampoo and stuff like that.... More

We have stayed at the Village In occassionally over many, many years and were delighted to find it just as nice as always. We love the murals on the different rooms and the shower upgrade was fantastic this time! So clean, and room for the 6 of us (who stayed in 3 rooms) to gather in one room to visit.... More

I called a week ahead to reserve a room for two adults for the July 4th Weekend for one night. The manager was very friendly, check-in went smooth and did not need to return to the office to check out, just leave the key on the table when you leave. We were told in advance what room # in would... More

Room was clean and habitable; bed ok. N/S room away from the main road so no traffic-noise issues. Manager was polite and helpful. Very good value for the price.

I stayed with a friend to celebrate my birthday since I was from out of town. We had planned to stay 3 days but only stayed 2 because we were harassed by the manager because we were standing outside talking and wiping the wheels on my car. He was very rude and disrespectful, therefore we left the next day. The... More

Even though we stayed in a smoking room because non-smoking was not available, it was fine. Extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. Coffee was available at the office. Very friendly owner with helpful information about the area.

We travel to the area (Lovingston/Shipman) every year as our family is there. This was the first year that we declined to say with family and instead decided to stay at this local hotel since we now have a two-year old in tow. The Good: The staff was very friendly. The rooms were very, very clean - especially for a... More

The price was right so I can't complain much. We went on a Jeep trip with friends and a few of us chose to stay at the village inn instead of camping. The majority of their rooms appear to be smoking, but I was told that the room we were staying in hadn't had a smoker in over a month... More
