For the third year in a row we recently were wowed by our family get together at the House Mountain Inn. As usual, the grounds, the Inn and the rooms were fresh and clean. The staff is as friendly and helpful as it is possible to be. During the past five years, we have visited 18 countries and at least... More

I can't believe I haven't left a review for this wonderful place yet. We stayed there twice and both times liked it a lot. The first time was after Christmas in 2008, and we came back last year (2011). We found the place same romantic, same nice, and hosts same friendly, only trees by the pond grew up a little... More

We arrived after a long day driving down the Skyline Drive. We were greater by Jeff who informed we were he only guests that night and to treat it as our home from home. We did exactly that helped by a few glasses over very nice dry white wine and a really excellent meal cooked by Jeff. To keep it... More

Views you can't imagine! We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a cheese platter. We enjoyed it out on the upstairs balcony. The owners' Golden Retriever kept us company. We enjoyed the snack while enjoying the view of the pond and twin peaks, the chirping birds, etc. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. We had an outdoor... More

we spent one night at this delightful lodge. It is a secluded, peaceful, large lodge type accomocations, with common areas and private sleeping rooms. The common areas were the porches, the great room and bar and dining room. The room we stayed in was Green Hill room at the top of the stairs. We had a private hot tub on... More

I loved the rustic look and the location. I was back visiting friends, and I really enjoyed my stay here. I will come back. The breakfasts are great. My only regreats were I didn't get to bring my sweetie, and I didn't have a chance to have dinner here, I loved the wine and cheese hour too.

Stayed at the House Mountain Inn in May for two nights, the log cabin is beautiful as well as the grounds. The room was bigger than depicted on the website, we had a hot tub room at the backside of the house. Got to see all of the rooms, we were the only ones there, they are all beautiful .... More

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Inn as part of our honeymoon. The owners are incredibly friendly and accomodating, and the grounds are breathtaking and peaceful. I enjoyed the hiking trail up House Mountain to the lookout, and the wife enjoyed her fireside massage. The hot tub on the porch was a nice addition to the whole... More

My husband and I stayed at the Inn this week and the views were breath taking. I got so many great photos and loved the get away. It had snowed on Christmas Day and there was snow still on the ground which made it beautiful outside. The food was great, loved the wine and cheese reception and meeting others. If... More

Family owned with a very friendly atmosphere. Truly great people who just could not do enough for you!! A beautiful Inn with a picturesque setting and plenty of nature walks to be had right out the front door. A short drive to Lexington, VA a very charming town. This Inn is a great value.
