This was a great little family owned place right near the downtown area of Chincoteague. The owner checked us in and took time to advise us of the area's attraction. The room was very clean and comfortable. The television was a little dated, but the cable worked fine. A great place to stay for the money.

The room wasn't a 5 star hotel, but what do you expect for this price. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was the most friendly and helpful I have ever dealt with. I definately recommend staying there.

The Birchwood is under new ownership this year. They are really working hard to make your stay enjoyable. Very helpful and friendly. The rooms are no frills but are clean and spacious. Efficiencies have a microwave, stove and fridge. Quiet location except during pony penning (right next door to the carnival grounds).
