We had a excellent stay at the Boar's Head. The staff was very professional, the grounds lovely. We stayed in Ednam Hall and had a beautiful room, that was very quiet. Our buffet breakfast was delicious. I loved all the paintings and prints situated in the different buildings.

Great setting - Great getaway place - good bed - recommended for a few days or a round of golf unfortunately tried to get a spa treatment waited at the spa reception desk for 10 mins but no one showed up. Definitely an opportunity.

Upon checkin, we were informed that we were upgraded to a "deluxe lake-front room". Really? We joked about what shed we'd be sleeping in if it wasn't for our "upgrade". The Boar's Head has greatly improved their guest rooms since last I was here in the summer. We stayed in the main building this time and the room was so beautiful. Vacationed here with the family in April 2012 and could not have been more pleased. The hotel staff were very professional and friendly, the recently renovated rooms are extremely comfortable and classy. We had been talking about staying for 30 years. The BHI exceeded our expectations several fold. We would have expected to pay twice what we did for such excellent accommodations and professional staff. We especially liked the colonial decor, large clean room and spacious artistically tiled shower (in lieu of tub). We will be back
