Stayed here on recommendation of friends while driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. An enchanting place. Beautiful setting and authentic get-away with no cell service, phones, TV or internet. Three two story buildings set next to a beautiful little lake with a walking path and hiking trails close by. The rooms are quite basic and decor is a bit dated, but... More

Recently took a trip on the Skyline Drive VA and Blue Ridge Parkway and stayed at the Peaks of Otter Lodge. Setting is beautiful. The rooms are definitely not a 5 star hotel room. The room was clean and simple. No TV, clock, radio, or phone. Cell service was almost non-existant. If your lucking you might catch a signal for... More

The lodge has three connected double story buildings with motel style rooms. It is situated on a small lake with a path around it and close to several more challenging hiking trails. A bus will take you to the top of Sharp Top mountain (in season) viewable from the lodge or you can hike up and there is a Blue... More

My parents, sister, brother and sister-in-law stayed here for one night on our way down the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would have liked to stay longer and I will be back for a longer visit visit with my husband. It's important to know what you are signing up for when you stay here. The rooms are basic--as others have noted,... More

After trying to overcharge us for our room, the lady at reception gave us a room on the ground floor next to the mechanical room - not the second floor room I had been guaranteed by the person who took the reservation the week before. I asked for the room I had been promised and was told the lodge was... More

This was just about the worst place we've stayed at on the BRP. Be warned... No cell reception and no public phones are available. We were told to drive a mile in either direction to make any call. The lady at reception was utterly useless! Whilst the bar staff were hospitable, the food was terrible. The rooms are in desperate... More

Imagine listening to the sounds of nature! Fabulous! No television, no telephone, no cell signal. Rustic yet comfortable rooms with beautiful views and no tv, no phone! Take a walk around the lake. You'll be amazed at the beauty so take your camera. As I walked the lake one morning, a deer was grazing right in front of Polly Wood's... More

I took my dad for a couple nights stay for his birthday. This is a great get away. You have to keep in mind that the focus is on the land and not electronics. There isn't too much to the rooms. They are perfect for what they are intended for... A shower and a nights sleep. Each room has a... More

I came to Peaks of Otter numerous times with my family when I was growing up. I decided to bring my fiance back this summer and am so glad I did! It was more "rustic" than I remember but it completely fits the setting. The rooms are very basic and it's definitely not a top of the line inn, but... More

Just off the Blue-ridge parkway, this is a great place to stop for a night or two if you are looking to get away from it all. The accommodation is arranged separately to the main building, and is motel style, with every room having a fantastic view over a lake. There are no TVs (not a problem for us at... More
