My girlfriend and I spent three nights at Little Gnesta this last weekend. Ruth is a fantastic host, and has created a genuinely fantastic experience. The breakfast was first rate, the rooms were clean, and the town quite charming. Thanks Ruth!

A wonderful place to stay. The owner of this delightful B&B is Ruth and every morning I was there she served a delicious breakfast with all organic ingredients. She also makes granola to serve. The beds were ordered from Sweden (and I don't mean Ikea) and are truly the most comfortable beds I have slept on. The house is very...

Ruth Sproul's attention to every detail and thoughtful hospitality is extraordinary. We felt as if we were in a Carl Larsson illustrated book. Our brief visit to Newport was for an evening event but we hope to return to Little Gnesta in warmer weather for a longer stay with our bikes and kyack. Such a lovely place to stay!
A few days before our 4 day roadtrip through the Northeast Kingdom,Vermont Public Radio had a feature on Newport's rebirth and owner "Ruth" was one of several new residents/business owners interviewed who choose Newport over other larger better known cities to relocate. We immediately added it to our itinerary. We loved everything about this simple, clean, restful little oasis in the...

My husband and I were very skeptical about this place at first since we are very picky people - but we were in for a huge surprise, not just on how immaculate the little "gnesta" (so true to its name) was, but also with how pleasant and open the hostess "Ruth" was ... she made it all so easy and...

We were introduced to this wonderful B&B by an organization interested in Historic Preservation. And what a wonderful example of preservation, care, attention to detail and perfection of house and garden it is!
We are B&B people and this has to be one of the cleanest we have ever seen. It is clean, clean, clean and also welcoming and comfortable. You...

We stayed at Little Gnesta for one night in March on our way up to Quebec City. It is quite charming. Having spent some time in Sweden, we appreciated Ruth's creation of a place full of Gustavan touches. The breakfast table was beautifully set, and the food was terrific. Ruth is both down-to-earth and sophisticated, and is full of ideas...

My girlfriend and I stayed at Little Gnesta for 2 nights in March, 2012. Our room was spotless, and Ruth could not have been more welcoming. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, featuring local cheeses, breads, jams, and home-made granola. There are good restaurants in Newport, and though the town is small, we had no trouble finding things to do all...

The place was clean, quiet and comfortable. Ruth is very tentative to her gust’s needs. If you like to eat natural and great testing food made by people that Ruth personally knows, then, you will love breakfast. The place is located a walking distance from St Mary's Catholic Church. The church is located on top of a hill with a...

We stayed at the Little Gnesta B&B over this past President's Day weekend. It is extremely clean and the Carpe Diem beds were amazing! I have to say, they were the best beds that I have ever slept in. It's a shame that I don't have an extra 6k to buy my own!
Great breakfast, extremely clean rooms, amazing beds,...
