The Inn at Montpelier was the perfect balance between the small B&B that can be a bit too "family/friend" orientated, and the large chain Hotels that are way too impersonal. We found the facility quite lovely, furnished with antiques and good reproductions. It is within walking distance to restaurants, stores, and other events. The innkeepers and staff were very friendly... More

We spent a few nights at the Inn while exploring North Central Vermont. The Inn is delightfully located near restaurants and downtown Montpelier. Our room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very helpful and friendly. When the internet wasn't working our first night, we mentioned it to the staff the next morning and they rectified the situation immediately.... More

My father's house in England was Queen Anne, and old houses are never spotlessly clean - bugs live in the woodwork. People who like modern chains like Hilton or Sheraton probably won't enjoy the Inn at Montpelier, because this place HAS character, whereas the chains don't. We found the staff courteous, things worked in our room (window was a bit... More

A bit pricy, but top-notch! Lots of food and shopping in walking distance. Friendly courteous staff!

We picked the Inn at Montpelier because of its good location and historic architecture. We were not disappointed. The inside is charming. There is a beautiful front staircase and two welcoming sitting rooms on the ground floor in which you can enjoy a morning coffee and read the newspaper. The staff was very friendly and the continental breakfast was set... More

Stayed for 2 nights at the inn in Montpelier on our way from Boston to Montreal. The inn is in a great location, the service was fantastic, we could not fault the room, I must admit the room and the inn wont be for everyone, but it is a nice friendly quaint bed and breakfast which takes you back to... Not worth the price of $232.00 for one night in room 24, the mid-sized room (bigger than the standard room). Problems: small shower head with little pressure, bed TOO soft (although it was a king sized bed), dead bugs found in room and bathroom, peeling ceiling in bathroom, decor nothing special, bathroom door that did not shut, nothing to put... We stayed at the Inn in September while in town to visit friends. We picked this Inn for the central location, proximity to our friend's home, and generally for a relative lack of other options in Montpelier. The photos online looked nothing like our room. We were put up in the main house, which is quaint on the outside and... More

We have recently returned to the inn for a third time, and this time we decided to upgrade the the deluxe room with a romantic fireplace. Imagine our disappointment when we were informed that the fireplace was "not open for the season yet". That seem confusing, given our visit was timed at the height of foliage season. Unfortunately, that was... More

Upon checkin we were greeted by the owners who were very polite and couteious. YThe rooms were decorated in a very detailed coordinated manner. We also found the breakfast to be superb.
