When preparing to attend my daughter's Family Day event at Marlboro College, I made reservations way ahead because I was made aware of the lodging limitations close by. The decision to stay at Colonel Williams Inn was based on the fact that there were only two choices and I liked the look of the hotel from their website. Well, it... More

My son was recently married at the Colonel Williams Inn. Everything went beautifully. The property with the pond, stone walls, expansive lawn was gorgeous. The ceremony was held outside. We stayed at the Inn and our room #2 was large and very pretty. The breakfasts were very good. Eggs anyway you want, sausages, homemade coffee cakes, fresh fruit etc. The... More

We had dinner there before prior to the concert at Marlboro and it had been reasonably OK. This time was not the case. The price was way too high for what we got (small portions and tough meat). Don't think we will go back.

We recently stayed at this inn for the first time to attend the Marlboro Music Festival. There was no one at reception, we had to wait for half an hour. John then arrived from his jog, mumbling that Nancy was away and he had to do everything. Our room was large and clean, though the bathroom was antiquated and not... More

I have stayed at this beautiful inn several times. Whenever I am in this part of the country, I look forward to yet another visit. The proprietors, John and Nancie, along with their son, Peter, are very hands-on to make everyone's visit satisfying and happy. The Colonel Williams is a very cozy, well-maintained inn, located on many acres in a... More

I have stayed here at various times of the year and each time is a great experience. In the winter, the Inn is located close enough to ski mountains such as Mt. Snow that hitting the slopes is easy. In the summer there is plentiful hiking as well as small classic Vermont towns to visit close by. The owners are... More

Stayed here on a weeknight when we were the only guests. Owners were attentive and provided a most relaxing experience. Property and buildings are beautiful and worth the trip out of town. Breakfast tasted good and was cooked to order.

I was a little dubious about booking this after the other reviews but my fears were unfounded. First thing to know is that I was the only guest. I was greated on arrival and shown around the Inn and told the history (the owner is a history enthusiast!) and shown to my room. I booked Room 11 which is the... More

Stayed here back in the mid 70's. The innkeepers at the time were the Durkins, and they had a real gem going. Stayed again here in 2008. The present innkeepers are hardly interested or able to provide a decent dining experience, let alone getting breakfast right. Rank amateur stuff, in comparison to the art of cooking which should be abundant... More

We held our weekend wedding at the Colonel Williams Inn in June 2010. The owners, John and Nancie, were very rude and difficult to work with. John has no problem making sure you understand that you are an inconvenience to him and he is not happy about going out of his way for you. He was extremely unprofessional and worst... More
