Before making a reservation at the Cliff House, you might want to inquire whether it has been renovated/repaired. We stayed there May 18-19, 2012 and found the condition to be rather poor, certainly not what you expect for $300+ per night. The refrigerator, washer and dryer didn’t work, the shower leaked, the kitchen faucet was broken, among other things. The... More

I guess most of the people choose to stay at Mexican Hat because of it's proximity to Monument valley and wonderful landscapes all around. San Juan Inn will be good choice for anybody looking for a place to rest after a long day of hiking. The place is clean, rooms are nicely decorated. The bathroom would need some renovations but... Had a relaxing night here. We were on the second floor where we enjoyed a lovely porch that overlooked the San Juan River. Tough dragging the suitcases up the stairs, but the privacy of the second floor was worth it. Rooms were basic and clean. No breakfast included with room but the restaurant located on property had good food and... More

Great location for visiting Monument Valley. The motel is located next to the San Juan River and has many places to sit outside and view the river and the surrounding red rocks. The room was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. There was a restaurant on the property with a full bar and good food. The lady who checked us in... More

Very central location from which to explore Monument Valley. The motel is surprisingly comfortable, and the restaurant is ok (you can always go to the Swinging Steak for dinner...).

This was our 3rd stay at this older motel in the last 10 years. It seems to be steadily going down hill! Pros: 1- Inexpensive 2- Sitting on the benches overlooking the San Juan River and enjoying a glass of fine winr Cons: 1- The drinking water and shower water had a terrible SEWER order. Honest. Totally undrinkable. 2- Old... More

My husband and I stayed twice here in April and were really impressed with our first room upstairs (number 28, I think), as it was large, clean and comfortable. We've stayed here a few times before and have also appreciated the lovely setting and the chance to sit in tranquility overlooking the river. (Most of the other motels we stay... More

Great little place to stay north of monument valley. Tiny town, kind people, friendly and welcoming restaurant, comfortable rooms, authentic atmosphere.

We stayed at the San Juan inn on our way through monument valley. We sat back and relaxed on the San juan river and took in the serenity and beauty of the red dirt and rocks. The hotel is right on the river which makes for a pretty location! We went to the Mexican hat and valley of the gods... More

We stayed here after a hiking trip up on Cedar Mesa and in Grand Gulch - it is conveniently located near that and also near Monument Valley. The rooms face the San Juan River, and there are lots of seating areas outside to enjoy the sunset over the river. Our room was actually 2 small rooms... a full and twin... More
