This is a very pretty little Finca. The rooms seem better now than previous reviews have given it. They were certainly clean and spacious although watch out for low beams if you are over 5'8". The breakfasts were fine, but let the coffee warm up, we went for it too quickly..... We had the dinner and it was fine, nothing... More

Finca Santa Marta is a nice place in beautiful surroundings, but over-priced and lacking in service. For 95 euros we expected an better room and better service. The staff is not unfriendly, but indifferent. It took them ages to turn on the heating in our room. No fresh juice for breakfast, the fruit was rotten. They offer dinner for 30... More

I just spent a couple of nights at the very pretty Finca Santa Marta and for a peaceful retreat amongst the wilds of Extremadura, would recommend it. It probably is a little over-priced but this is made up for by the lovely owners and staff who go out of their way to tell you about the area and make sure... More

A week here afforded us a good place to relax, read, enjoy tapas, and get ready for sightseeing around the region of Extremadura. We were convenient to Roman Ruins, cities of conquistadors, and avian flyways. The storks' nests (more like bird condominiums) on chimney tops will never leave our memories. And, the household dogs lounging in the sun near the... More

Expectations were high when we headed for Finca Santa Marta. We thought it would be the jewel in the crown of our tour across Spain. Sadly that was not to be. Tired Tired Tired! Well past its prime. This must have been a wonderful find, once. Sadly no longer. Rooms tired and dirty. The Pool and garden neglected and so... More

We arrived here at 4pm in the afternoon as arranged only to find no-one there to welcome us. 1 hour 15 minutes later the manageress showed up but by then we had found the rooms we had booked and checked ourselves in. We were then told that despite having arranged several days before to eat in the restaurant that the... More

Our second stay and despite the unseasonal rain a wonderful two days. The room was called Sierra 1 and was delightful and spacious with a shared balcony outside to sit and have a sundowner. The owner and staff are charming and helpful and we could not have had a better experience.

We had a great old time here, but that was because we asked for a bigger room. I didn't fancy paying all that money for a room in the outhouse where my husband couldn't stand up! The other house has larger rooms, nicer bathrooms and are better looked after. I don't think they really should not be charging so much... More

Booked for four nights and stayed for one! Having just spent 3 nights at the parador at Gredos which was 15 euros a night cheaper and superb in all respects, we could not believe how spartan the room was. It was like an outhouse stuck onto the building, tiny, with only a rail to hang clothes and barely enough room... More

We discovered this gem in rural Spain because we wanted to cut our trip from Seville to Madrid into two days. We were two couples and shared a two bedroom suite with beautiful old furniture. We relaxed in the afternoon on the attached balcony looking out onto beautiful Spainish scenery and also enjoyed walking early the next morning in the... More
