My family (2 toddlers included) recently stayed at Raye Carrington's place on the Llano River. This is a remarkable spot on the river: quiet, peaceful and a terrific place for a cabin getaway. The rooms are well appointed (not frilly) and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfasts are delicious, thank to Sergio, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Raye... More

I've been coming here for about seven years and have never been disappointed. The location is excellent for secluded fishing right out front. You can wet wade from April to early November and the fishing is usually very good to excellent. I bring my kayak and venture up and down stream to expand my range but there's plenty of access... This is a great place to get away to and relax. I love the quite and watching the wildlife. When the Llano is flowing, it's nice to sit by the river and see fish and turtles, birds of all sorts, and even deer. It's a great escape from Austin, and a short drive. Folks who like to explore small towns... More

We booked a room here from a friend's recommendation and were very pleased with everything. The natural surroundings feature a crystal clear river to kayak or fish, and loads of beautiful spring wildflowers. "Upscale camping" or "rustic chic" are great ways to describe the experience. We slept with the windows open to the fresh air and woke to the birds... More

Think very upscale camping trip. There is no cell phone service & no television. You can sleep with the windows open (or turn on the window unit if you just can't stand the quiet.) The furnishings are primitive, but tasteful, with original art in the same cabin as "cots" and quilts. (Our cabin was High Hopes, $185/night, which has a... More

We only spent one night at the Carrington Inn but the kids wanted to stay longer. We went to Mason to Topaz hunt and found the Carrington Inn on the internet-the kids liked it better than rock hunting. Nice view of the LLano river from the River View room and the Attic (we rented both). Sergio made a great breakfast-you... More

My husband and I just returned from Austin where we spent Thanksgiving with relatives. In planning our trip, we had decided to extend our vacation for a few days in order to see more of the hill country. We were very glad we'd booked our stay at Raye Carrington on the Llano. Rustic chic is the best way to describe... More

When we need a few days away from our B&B, we love to visit other B&Bs around the state and what a special place we found on the Llano River! Raye and David have created heaven on earth...and I don't even fish... although I was tempted to give it a try! We notice and appreciate the "little" things and Raye... More
