Last August was my first time to visit Eve's Garden Bed & Breakfast. We had a trip to Marathon planned but when another lodging location messed up we shifted gears and found Eve's Garden. We were glad we had the opportunity to stay there. In May when we were back in west Texas we knew were we were going to... More

An oasis full of flowers. Wildly imaginative spaces full of heart. Beautiful, healthy food to simply crave forever after, created by the caring Alaina, superchef. I want the recipes. Kate took special time to spend with me and share her vision and life and was ever available to be helpful. Bubbles the dog and Fang the cat made me feel... More

We were birding in Big Bend and traveling through Marathon, TX. We stayed 2 nights at Eve's Garden. It is a UNIQUE place. You have to see it and experience it. The room was clean and really interesting. The whole place is wonderfully creative and enjoyable. The breakfast was spectacular and we were accommodated both mornings - one an early... More

Wonderful, colourful watering and feeding hole in the desert. Such a contrast to the stark, arid landscape. Flowers scents, tinkling water, gentle melodies playing in the shaded courtyard. Shafts of colours in the bedrooms. And the best breakfasts ever. Blueberry pancakes served with fruited baked custard; asparagus or pumpkin frittata; French toast and pumpkin bread - all as colourful as... More

Our stay at Eve's Garden was even better than we expected. The colorful, whimsical motif was lots of fun. The Sunday morning breakfast was one of the best we have ever experienced. Kate and her family are very welcoming and interesting people to chat with. This is a great place to stay on the way to Big Bend. We will... More

What a great experience. This place is home grown and grew "organically" as rooms were added. An indoor conservatory, lap pool, and hosts tht obviously love what they do all added up to make this a one of a kind experience. There is a more traditional venue in town - the Gage Hotel - but you need to take a... More

Thanks for the compliments Mister Richard! It was a joy to have you and your sweetie stay with us. This fun duo were on a bike tour through West Texas and are like so many of our guests that make our mission worthwhile! By the way, want to be clear that the "lap pool" is a warm weather lap pool,... More

This is a "DO NOT MISS". Even if you are afraid to enter the montage of architectural and eclectic landscaping, the tour from the street is worth the time to stop and just wonder. Obviously some very talented visionary at work here.

I discovered Eve's Garden B&B in 2012 when I stayed in Marathon prior to running in the Big Bend National Park Ultra. I stayed at the Gage Hotel (which is a neat place too) & I was jogging around Marathon when I passed a colorful, eccentric block. A few days later, I dropped by to talk to the owner Kate.... More

We love Eve's Garden! This was my husband's second stay there and my first. He loved his first stay there so much that he wanted to share the place with me. We were traveling with friends and Kate put our friends in The Castle and my husband and me in The Sapphire Room. Both rooms are so colorful and welcoming... More

My wife and I and our teenage son stayed at Eve's Garden for the first time Dec. 28-29, and can't say enough good things about this magical oasis of beautiful art, creative architecture, comfort and charm on the doorstep of the Big Bend country. Friendly proprietress Kate Thayer and her famliy have pioneered the use of papercrete as a building... More
