Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Friendly helpful staff for a late night arrival. Remolded spacious clean rooms with comfortable bed. Called hotel direct for reservation. Great place to stay when traveling though. Ate breakfast at local restaurant across street before left, excellent breakfast.

This motel was very clean and had everything needed. Definitely not the Hilton or a Marriott , has hardwood floors but I felt right at home. Very reasonably priced. I had a full bed , was super comfortable. Had trouble with the T.V. but maintenance always fixed it, ( they were great) . I believe it was me not operating the remote correctly that caused problems. Water was always hot , AC worked perfect and the fridge was one of the coldest I have ever seen. The highway traffic was a bit loud but my room was very close to it. And there is construction going on, sometimes the traffic is backed up but not for long. Conveniently located by WalMart , Weikels Bakery, and many fast food places. Downtown LaGrange is about 1-2 miles away. The only complaint I had was that whoever had the room above me had heavy and loud footsteps. But, that wasn't intolerable. Sam at the front desk was hospitable and friendly. River Valley- keep this man!! He knows and does his job excellently. Coffee was delicious, it is kept up front in the office. I will definitely stay here the next time I visit LaGrange and strongly recommend River Valley.

Would avoid this place if you can. Absolutely terrible customer service and the guy at the front, who I believe is the manager, was incredibly rude and I would not feel safe staying there again. The rooms are not worth the price - plenty of better options in the area.

No power for 4 days, coupled with no water for the same amount of time, drove us from our home to find a motel with hot, running water. This motel assured us that they had water. It’s an older unit and because of the oppressive below zero temperatures, the room and vinyl floor were freezing. I turned the heat on high and it took almost the hour we had the room for it to warm up. The room was very clean and had a small refrigerator and microwave plus a big TV. But the shower was wonderful. Hot water in an endless supply. It was worth every penny of the $77 charge for the hour we were there! The people at the front desk were nice. The room was clean. The shower was excellent. What more could you ask for?

Booked here as most rooms locally were already taken because of a local event. I had never stayed here before and took a chance, cost was more than reasonable and after staying I copuld tell why. work crews were the main guests as it was very reasonable. However the bed was actually comfortable, TV worked well, breakfast available was coffee, room was clean, bare essentials in bath but adequate for one or two nights. This is a very large facility and I was impressed at the number of rooms. once you check in you are pretty much on your own, as finding someone to get something done for you was not always quick, but very friendly staff overall. Looking for a low cost stay with just the essential needs, this is it!

We stayed here for a single night. We didn't spend a lot of time in the motel as there was so much we wanted to do in La Grange. I liked that we were not wasting a large sum of money for facilities we wouldn't be likely to use such as swimming pools and spas. We are just not interested in that sort of thing. We like a clean, comfortable place to sleep with friendly service and that is exactly what we got. There is no breakfast on site, but we did not mind as there is a good choice of cafe type places in the area. There is free parking and wi-fi which are things we look for when choosing a place to stay.

our room had been remodeled and we were happy with the results. it contained a micro-wave and refrigerator; wish a coffee maker was included. the lobby had coffee available in the mornings but not later in the day. all in all, a bit expensive for what you get.

WE stay there twice a year during the Antiques week for Warrenton/Roundtop They always take good care of us and accommodate our 20 day stay each time. When we call, they know us by name and treat us like family. Its a perfect place for us to get a good night sleep . Its clean, and convenient.

My friend booked this hotel (I generally prefer a little more upscale accommodations) but I am a go with the flow kinda person and I try not to complain too much. We checked in late 5:30pm to discover there were no downstairs rooms available as requested and they said that even if you request when ordering they really dont reserve downstairs rooms as they are more of a first come first served perk. This is also not a place that has a free breakfast bar..but there was free coffee in the lobby. The room itself was located right next to the stairs and we heard everyone as they clattered up and down the metal stairs with their luggage...HOWEVER, the carpet in the room was clean and free of odors or stains and actually looked semi-newish. The room itself seems to have been almost recently painted as we noticed masking tape on the inside of the door jam in the bathorrom that had never been removed and it looked like it might have been left there a little while longer than it should have. The sheets and mattresses were clean and acceptable and we got a good nights sleep. The hotel left a plackard of local restaurants which made finding dinner easy. There was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room both were clean and mostly new. The room did have the slightest very very faint scent of cigarette smoke but I am super sensitive to the scent and a normal person might not even notice it. My friend didnt smell it. The bathroom was also clean and odor free but the towels were generic and scratchy..but I always bring my own anyway so that really didnt matter to us. If you are in town for a short visit to Round Top and Warrenton and all you need is a clean place to stay and you are not expecting or hoping for any extras this is a perfectly acceptable place to spend the night. There were 2 of us and with tax the room was $89
