Older Historic Hotel with a unique southern charm. Great location to walk around downtown and our room was very nice with a nice courtyard to enjoy. Well worth the money and we'd go back again.

I love staying at The Excelsior House Hotel. We love to just get away from time to time on the weekend. The breakfast is wonderful and the entire staff was very courteous and friendly. We will definitely be back.

It was an overnight girls trip from Fort Worth to Jefferson. You should do your best to stay in the West wing, which is the historic wing. Antique wooden beds, marble tables, and armoires. Claw-foot deep bathtub and lots of hot water. Wonderful, appealing food served in an elegant setting. Clean towels everyday. Very nice Staff. And, wi-fi, too! Atmosphere is the drawing card here. If you need modern and sleek, go elsewhere. This is for the one who wants to step back in time.

The Plantation breakfast was wonderful but the room was less than adequate. The sheets had holes, the blanket was rotting & the walls were an inch thick with dust. I love "old" but not dirty.
