Staying in the downtown location makes it easy to explore all the Houston area has to offer. Rooms are well cleaned and all the servie is excellent. Stayed in this hotel for business in February 2012. The hotel is located in a business area, so don't expect a lot of interesting sites nearby. The concierge was helpful and able to arrange transportation (free of charge) to a nearby restaurant. Gray st. is nearby and within walking distance and has plenty of bars and restaurants.

I stayed at the downtown Houston Crowne Plaza on a work trip in February.
