This hotel is located in the theater and tourist areas of downtown. It's location is perfect and the accomodations were excellent including the room darkening curtains. You can easily walk to the Alley Theater and Jones Hall as well as One Bayou Place and the Aquarium. Access to the underground tunnel and shopping is right next door and great if... More

The hotel is located to the north of downtown in a buisness district. There is no much activities in this area. The hotel rooms and furniture is outdated and the hotel requires a major renovation

My first visit to Houston. Selected this hotel because of it's perfect location in theater district. Was greeted by front desk staff Ushi and Andrea, who display a level of personal service that is rare these days. They also were obviously proud of their special hotel and knowledgable about it's unique history. Charming room, very quiet, with great bed. All... More

I booked this hotel as it was close to the theatres for my parents who were travelling in in the country. We booked two rooms. The greeting on arrival after a long day was very welcoming and warm. The rooms were very clean and well presented. We loved it so much, we returned 3 weeks later, this time with a... More

A smaller and perhaps as a result more welcoming and personal Houston hotel. Towards the north of downtown where the better bars and restaurants are. Only downside is no pool.

Stayed here in Oct 11 for 2 nights and it lived up to my high expectations. It could not be more different to a Marriott or Holiday Inn, which why I chose it. It had all the "old world" charm that I was hoping for in a cracking position to see the main attractions in Downtown. The check in area... More

The is truly a old vintage hotel nothing is wrong if that is your taste. Well we got a good deal off of priceline.com. Our room was 29.99 before taxes clearly someone messed up but hey it's not my fault. The guy at the front desk kind of had a problem like the money was coming out of his pocket.... More

The location of this hotel is excellent! My husband and I just wanted to have a short weekend away. We had dinner at Bayou Place, saw a play at the Alley Theater and didnt have to worry about driving and parking, definitely a plus! I really enjoyed our stay here, they even had a wine tasting in the lobby the... More

We only stayed for one night on our way from Dallas to New Orleans. The lobby is very pretty. Rooms were comfortable and pleasant. Bar was very nice with attentive staff. I would recommend valet parking as the only parking we could find around there was just as expensive. Overall in good location to see downtown Houston.

Just spent a night at the Lancaster, which is in the heart of downtown Houston. The room was comfortable and a bit "shabby chic" with and English Country House feel to it. The bathroom was spacious and up-to-date. The bed was extremely comfortable. They have a tiny lobby to the hotel, but make it welcoming, with free wine in the... More
