We drove overnight to get here (no sleep), and arrived early. We were exhausted and in need of a shower! I called ahead and asked about check in time, and the owner/manager allowed us to go ahead and check in 4 hours early. The room is not the Hylton, but very clean. Bathrooms are newly renovated which was very nice.... More

I stayed here for 3 nights when I was in town for the Galveston Birding Festival. I chose this place primarily for the price. The couple who run the place are very nice. They were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure that I had whatever I needed. The hotel is an older hotel. I'm ok... More

I am sorry you did not like the motel and our hospitalty. You came from Missouri when you were cheking in and I asked for payment you started to question me about being charged already, which was not the case(after 15 minutes proving it to you ). Then you raised a question about safety. To that I responded "It's probably... More

The owner and his wife (perhaps I should say the owner and her husband?) were very nice and helpful. Whenever we asked for something (an extra pillow, a hair dryer, etc.) there were both accommodating and pleasant. One reason we picked this hotel was its proximity to the ferry (to the Bolivar Peninsula), and it is indeed right at the... More

We visit Galveston several times a year and this will be our hotel of choice from now on. This has by far been our most pleasant stay. The owner is truly one of the nicest men I've ever met! Many people can pull off a charming first impression to attract business, but that is not the case with him. His... More

After reading several good reviews (still amazed that there were ANY good reviews), we decided to stay here for one night prior to cruise). We showed up, and upon seeing the very old, tired looking hotel, asked if it was possible to see the room first. The person behind the desk (apparently the owner), said "well, the room is old".... Rooms were simple and comfortable. Excellent and friendly staff and they really do help you feel at home. Rooms were kept clean and always had clean towels, and no problems getting extra ones if needed. We stayed here 4 nights and loved being by the ferry. Think we rode it about 5 times! We will most definitely stay here again!

My parents and I stayed at this hotel for a night prior to our cruise. Sam (the owner) made us feel at home and could not have been more helpful. The hotel rooms are fairly basic, but are sufficient for a good nights sleep. The hotel is very close to the ferry landing (free rides if you want to do... More

This was our place of respite after a long day's drive prior to our week's cruise. We were greeted by the most congenial hotelier I ever met, Sam. He assures you of every cooperation to make your stay pleasant and he knows the cruise terminal and the island well. He'll warn you about the "battle axe," but she's just as... More

Sam and his wife, the very personable owner-operators will go the extra mile to meet your needs.Very large rooms, comfy beds, amenities in a very quiet location. Being able to leave the car while on Cruise makes the very reasonable price right. Excellent value.
