PROs: We stayed north of Fredericksburg in the Country Inn Cabins surrounded by a 200 acre wildlife preserve which was interesting and fun to watch. Elk and several variety of deer grazed right outside the cabin areas---was relaxing to watch them while at the cabin. Cabin itself was rustic and cute. Do not stay here unless you enjoy the sounds of cement mixers and other construction equipment from sun-up until after dark. When we were out one evening, someone went through our locked room and took several items. Advertised as 100 acre ranch, but only a small section is accessable, the rest is under fence.

I am actually getting my lawyer involved with this place because it was so terrible. I will have more of an explanation in a few days. In the meantime, do EVERYTHING in your power to stay away from this place. It is absolutely horrible; and I'm not that hard to please.

We just spent two nights at the Country Cottage Inn. It's a 2 story stone house built in 1850 and is filled with wonderful antiques so naturally it exudes rustic charm but this is a B&B to avoid. It's on the pricey side at $130 to $145 per room so you would expect an appropriate level of comfort and extra... More
