I surprised my wife on valentines day with a stay at Kristin's. She was amazed with the beauty of the place, she loves antiques and the whole town is filled with them. We stood out like a sore thumb being in our 20's and having colored hair. We stayed only one night but wish we could have stayed longer. The... More

Stayed in Eli's place just after Christmas on our way to San Antonio. The only drawback is no stand up shower but the whirlpool tub with hand held wand was close enough. Located just off the main stretch of town this was perfect for a good night of sleep. The only problem is the wife so liked the exposed beams... More

We found Annie's House at the Austin Street Retreat by accident, we arrived in Fredericksburg, TX without reservations, but I had a photo from a magazine which mentioned some Gastehaus service, which turned out to be how you book these rooms. This service handles B&B's, but the Austin Street Retreat is only B, not B&B, no breakfast. However, they have... More

My husband and I travel here every year for our anniversary. We love the privacy each cottage offers, as well as the beautiful accommodations. We have recommended this property to many friends and will continue to do so.

My husband and I stayed in the El Jefe Suite and loved the layout. Gorgeous Fireplace, private sitting area outside with relaxing waterfall, the bed was nice, and we both enjoyed the tub. The only 2 things that would have made it perfect would be a standup shower (I am 7 months pregnant and it is hard to get in/out... More

We stayed in El Jefe on a Friday night (Yes! One Night Reservations Are Accepted!), and couldn't have been happier with this Guesthouse. The ground floor consists of a walled and gated patio (table and 2 chairs and corner fountain) which leads to the front door. Inside is a large room with king sized bed, antique desk, small table and... More

We stayed here for Thanksgiving this year and found it charming with the prettiest ivy covered courtyard with a tree swing in the middle. Maria's cabin had two bedrooms with two queen beds, a tiny kitchen sitting room area, a dressing area, a separate jacuzzi room, and half bath. It's located one block from Main Street so close to all... More

We came to Fredericksburg, TX for a 3 days trip from San Antonio and found this place online. It looked enchanting and it was. We stayed in El Jefe and loved it. It is truly a retreat with no TV. Some may go through withdrawal with that but we did not mind. There were CD of a variety of music... More

My husband and I stayed at Annie's two nights. The first night we arrived very late, so I was unable to unwind and relax in the huge bathtub. The second night I couldn't wait to get into the bath and relax. As I was sitting in the tub with only the light from my laptop computer (listening to music), one... More

The accommodations at Austin Street Retreat are lovely and rustic. I have stayed in the El Jefe Suite and Annie Suite and both were beautiful and truly romantic. Anytime I need to get away from it all I find myself returning here to unwind. The setting is peaceful, relaxing and soothing. The location is only a few blocks from the... More
