They were very reasonable, 169/night thru April. Loved that they didn't have TVs. The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. Loved the rocking chairs on the porch to sit and enjoy the view. If you bring your own items for s'mores, expect to wait at least 30-45 minutes for them to provide a flame... & not very happily. People... More

Thank you for your input. It seems that many of the standards that we pride ourselves on were not met with your visit. Your experience with flame to cook your s'mores should not have taken the time that it did and your restaurant experience also leaves much to be desired. Both of your comments will help us focus on areas... More

I have been to Canyon of the Eagle Resort (COER) several times. The first time was with my wife and daughter. We decided to risk it, even though the photos seemed dated on the web-page. The getaway was fabulous. If you need a cabin and just a lake,...this is what you want. The staff is fabulous. The food was 4... More

Were there for just one night & would have liked to have stayed a second but place was booked. The grounds are very nice, the staff helpful & you can't beat the location. Ate dinner in the restaurant ( we had the special pulled pork enchaladas and pork loin dish both were tasty and a bottle of the wine from... More

This is my second time at Canyon of the Eagles. My last visit was back in January 2010. I enjoyed this visit much more than the previous one. I would suggest going when it is warmer outside --- spring or summer would be great. We were there last weekend and it happened to be Spring Break for most of Texas... More

We stayed at this place for spring break and it's a wonderful place. Located in a natural reserve with nature trails, easy access to the lake, you can't beat that. Clean rooms, nice amenities, and great views. The only complaint is the service at the restaurant. The food is above average but the service needs improvement. Slow and lacking the... More

Have stayed at Canyon of the Eagles twice in the last 6 weeks. Both stays met my expectations and left me saying I would be back. In fact, I am heading back again in two weeks. If you are looking for a 5-star resort in the hill country with full amenities, this is not the place. However, what you will... More

If you do take a chance on Canyon of the Eagles, I hope that you don't need to make any changes due to family illness, as they are 100% inflexible. They don't have a general manager (not surprisingly) or customer service. If you're thinking about staying somewhere in the Texas hill country, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere...

Wake up to the birds singing outside your window. This is a nature preserve and the emphasis is on nature. There are not a lot of amenities (i.e., no TV), but who needs it when the location is great. Spend time on the porch, the patio overlooking the lake (although the lake is low now), or go hiking on the... More

Ultra pet friendly, clean rooms, friendly staff! Our stay was wonderful! So dark and peaceful at night, no tv. Good food at their restaurant. Entertainment was good! All in all just what the doctor ordered!!!

We were very impressed. We enjoyed their easy-walking nature trails for a couple of hours. They are flat and well-marked. We loved the opportunity to view the star and planets through the telescopes at the observatory. The stars really are big and bright deep in the heart of Texas! The food at the restaurant was delicious and the sunset view... More
