My sister and I just had a wonderful stay at the Hill Country Equestrian Lodge. I am a beginner rider and she is advanced and it was great for both of us. I was so impressed with the "natural horsemanship." Kind of the opposite of a dude ranch.. The horses are finely trained and respond to subtle actions. There is... More

I just returned from a three-day visit to Hill Country Equestrian Lodge in Bandera, Texas. On my arrival, I was greeted very warmly by Peter and Maggie, the dog, and made to feel right at home! I had just come from a 5-day convention at the Grand Hyatt in San Antonio, which was beautiful, but I preferred the solitude and... More

I visited the Hill Country Equestrian Lodge this spring for one of Dianne's Whole Horsemanship Riding clinics. The lodge itself is located out in the beautiful rolling hills North West of San Antonio. What I noticed first when I drove up was the incredible quiet, peaceful feeling of this place. Second was how friendly and welcoming everyone was. It just... More

My 13 year old daughter and I just spent 6 days at HCEL. She rides regulary, and I have not ridden since 1977. The fact that both of us had a fabulous experience says a lot about Dianne Lindig, her staff, her program and her facility. The Lodge is in the hills north of San Antonio, adjacent to a gigantic... We came on recommandation from close familiy and we were not disappointed ! Beautifull landscape and great riding. We ride most days at home english style and wanted to experience western riding in an authentic setting and all our expectations were fulfilled. Great horses willing and listening to the rider. Every minut was a pleasure even though the weather was... More

We just got back from a family spring break trip and can't say enough great things about HC Equestrian Lodge. We've been to other places for riding vacations and our family agreed that this was our best riding vacation yet! Diane and Peter have a wonderful place. It's so peaceful and relaxing. The horses were great and well trained. My... More

Hill Country Equestrian Lodge is the ideal place to go, if you want to improve your English or Western riding skills in a beautiful setting. I have visited HCEL multiple times over the past years and enjoyed most of all, being able to work with such well-trained, subtle and gentle-mannered horses. I loved being able to take care of the... Hill Country Equestrian Lodge is the place to go for REAL riding! Makes my horses at home seem like poorly trained brats- Diane's horses are responsive, well trained, safe, and simply wonderful! She has a unique approach to riding that she generously shared. Just when I thought I knew it all about horses, I rode with Diane and learned all... More

This lovely spot in the Bandera Hill Country is so beautiful and peaceful. It takes you back to the simpler times, making you feel closer to nature and farther from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Living in the city, I rarely get time to myself without the sounds of cars passing by, sirens, or people yelling outside. I... More

Superb set-up. Dianne is an excellent instructor and the whole experience for my daughter and I was perfect. My husband and son played golf at nearby courses and enjoyed the local shooting range. Would strongly recommend the peace and quiet of the surroundings and the family time together.
