Arriving in Sunbury after a long day travelling, we were surprised to find that most accommodation is booked out when there is a wedding in one of the local wineries. We rang around and were pleased to find Gisborne Peak with a rare, last-minute opening. They were so friendly on the phone we felt our homelessness-anxiety fade. And what a... More

We enjoyed the location of our cottage above the vinyards with wonderful autumn vistas. The cottage had been prepared for us with special attention ensuring it was warm on arrival on a very cold afternoon, complemented by peaceful music on the sound system. The cottage was tastefully furnished in modern themes, consistent with an eco-environment. Simple and spacious, great attention... More

Hello Marg, Thank you for such a wonderful review. I always say to myself 'What would I want, what would I like' and the answer is always that the heater is on, the music is soft and relaxing and the place is clean. I'm glad you agree! I'm glad that you and your friend visited our local Gisborne Old Time... More

Hello Emese S: We love to hear that our guests left relaxed and refreshed. Sometimes all it takes is a short getaway, and like you said, not too far from Melbourne, but yet far enough to feel like you've had a country experience. Hope to see you again when you need another R&R break. Barbara More

We stayed in the "Fernery Cottage" last weekend as I took my Partner there for her Birthday. It was such a great experience. The cottage was very warm and inviting and it was so quiet and relaxing, The views from the cottage were lovely and the winery itself is situated close to both Melbourne (where we came from) and Hepburn... Hello Marc, and thank you for such a wonderful review. I'm sorry that I didn't get to meet your and your partner (I did talk to you on the phone) but I am always so happy to hear that the staff were friendly and welcoming. They have great pride, and fun, in working here, and it shows. The Fernery would... More

My partner and I stayed for two nights and had a really lovely stay. Very clean and comfortable cottage, yummy platter and breakfast foods and we very much enjoyed the wine - the pinot noir is delicious! I would definitely recommend this place to others who appreciate a beautiful view, night time jazz, friendly service and very, very good wine.

Hello HollyN2, Thank you for the excellent (5 stars) review! It is so nice when people take the time to comment so others have some reference and assurance when looking for a place to stay. It sounds like you enjoyed the whole package - food, wine, views and friendly people. Just so we don't confuse people, the 'jazz' was no... More

Gisborne Peak was just perfect for our romantic weekend... The cottages were superbly equipped and appointed, with the cheese plates, big breakfast goodies and wine just what the love God ordered. Great valley view and love those vines. All the staff made us feel special and I'm trying to work out how I can get back soon!

Hello 37 ChrisS. How nice that you found a place for 'the perfect romantic weekend'! It sounds like you enjoyed yourselves, which is exactly what we want. Your cottage was 'Bidgee Widgee', but I think almost everyone who comes thinks 'their' cottage is the best. I'm sincerely thankful for the kind words. Hope to see you again. Barbara More

We stayed in a lovely self catering cottage in the middle of the vineyard. Had a nice lunch, delicious breakfast materials and then also managed to cook a BBQ for ourselves which was fabulous. The experience delivered all the lovely things I expected having read previous reviews. The cabins were clean, modern and comfortable. It was also very interesting to read about the environmentally friendly ways in which they are constructed, in the booklet in the cottage. The cellar door was relaxed and our hosts were friendly and generous. Don't miss out on enjoying... More

Thank you for the great review. There is something special about drinking a bottle of wine right where it's grown. Travelled well, didn't it? And if the wine and the views don't win you over, the pizzas will. I'm glad you appreciated the environmentally sound features of the cottages. I want to do a better explanation and interpretation of them,... More

After driving through the many vines we reached our cabin (one of three) which was nestled on a hill with views of the vineyard. The cabin was well presented and appointed. It's great to read that you were mindful of the sustainability of the cottages. This is often overlooked as the solar and wind power and the recycling of water all happens seamlessly behind the scenes, without sacrificing any creature comforts. Thanks for staying and thank you for the lovely review. Hope to see you again. The grapes are all netted... More
