We stayed for one night in the Wynnstay during the May bank holiday weekend. We'd arrived having cycled down from Holyhead and were a little late because of a closed bridge at Harlech. Not only did they keep the kitchens open for us... They even added pasta to the menu because they knew what we were doing. Having cycled into... More

I've given this a high rating because I just felt very comfortable and relaxed there. I know the carpet's a bit tatty, the rooms could do with redecoration etc. But, it's a very cosy place to stay. The communal areas are really nice, and you can sit with your computer by a log fire with a good internet connection. Hard... More

I needed a room for the night after working late in the area & I was too tired to travel the 120m journey back home. I had a work colleague who lives in Machynlleth who advised that this had a reputation as a very good local Hotel. I found all the staff on the night very charming & extremely helpfull... More

For me it was just a place to stay. i wasnt asking for anything special. its in Perfect location in the town center, with comfortable beds, very welcoming, and a great breakfast. Maybe a bit pricey but its a good spot. I would be glad to stay there again.

Had dinner at the Wynnstay in November, just booked to stay for the weekend in March; the staff are charming, the atmosphere warm and the food exciting and delicious, have been waiting for the opportunity to enjoy the full experience!

Stayed here on passing through from North Wales to South seeing as it was around 8pm and we was tired. Looked online at hotels in the area and found this one was around £40 BUT that price is per person so we ended up paying £90 for a very standard old fashioned room with a very old bathroom (in a... Warm welcome, pleasant room and a superb restaurant, just what I needed when in Machynlleth with work for a couple of days in January. Staff were very friendly if a little disorganized in the restaurant one evening. Only negative was the the bathroom was rather dated. Otherwise a very pleasant stay, with excellent dinner and breakfast.

My husband and I went back to the Wynnstay for a trip down memory lane. The hotel staff where just as friendly as on our first visit over a decade ago. The four poster room (15) added a touch of romance compounded by the rose petals and "love" chocolate put there during turn down. The restaurant served local specialities sourced... More

My wife and I have been fortunate to tour extensively throughout the UK and Europe over many years now and we really love to come across a little gem such as this. Don't let me mislead you. its not "wonderful" or "outstanding", but it is "charming" and offers all the character of a former coaching inn with the benefits of... More

The Wynnstay Hotel never fails to please and our recent visit was no exception. Drawn between the cosy log fire in the bar area and the equally warm main restaurant we had a spacious table for two in the latter. Unlike many others; the Wynnstay serves guests an excellent bread basket and a jug of water on arrival. Both of... More
