My partner and I don't usually stay in pub accomodation, so I can't really compare this with other pubs. The room was pleasant enough, although a little bland. The beds were comfy and there was a large tv. There was a very good ensuite with a big "p" shaped bath. A previous reviewer had commented that the bathroom door in... More

Gorgeous little snug room, with a lovely hot roaring fire. Staff were all incredibly friendly and polite. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was lovely, home cooked and fresh. We were recommended to visit this Inn, so glad they did!!

We arrived on a very wet, cold Saturday and received a warm welcome in the cosy snug bar. Our bar meal was excellent in both quality and value. The bedroom looked lovely, but it was very cold and the very well-fitted en-suite was spoiled by the fact that the door fastener was broken. There was nowhere to hang our very... More

It was more than one would expect from an inn at the centre of a small town. Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. More than acceptable rooms - it's not the Savoy! But the best bit was the food, reasonably priced and excellent quality, in a very pleasant dining room away from the bars. Ideally located for a trip on the... More

On the Offas Dyke and the standard of accommodation was excellent. Great stay and great food. The rooms have a huge bathroom and staff can't do enough for you. Great family run pub

Felt a little apprehensive when I first saw the Horse and Jockey at the end of a long day on the Offa's Dyke Path but needn't have worried, a lovely conversion job done on the bedrooms, had a double room to my self but space for 2 people might be a little tight with 2 suitcases to unpack and pack,... The inn has more historic interest outside than in. The room was updated (but you can see the old beams) and had a modern bathroom. They didn't have a double available so we slept in twins. The mattresses were soft, but the bedding was clean and warm. The biggest challenge was that he room was small, and the heat wasn't... More
