We travelled to Wales for a family wedding in the nearby area but have never stayed in Harlech itself before. This B & B was fabulous, from the moment of arrival til departure everything was perfect. The hosts were charming, very friendly but "not in your face" at all. Nice touch on the second day was Derek sporting his Kilt!!... More

Wonderful views and marvellous sunsets just added to the enjoyable experience of staying at Maelgwyn house. Bridget and Derek are perfect hosts; the breakfasts excellent and our bedroom was extremely comfortable and well-appointed. We would certainly recommend this B&B to anyone who enjoys comfort, freindliness and good food. Well worth the high star rating it has achieved.

We are fortunate to enjoy numerous trips to mid wales and on this occasion after a day walking we arrived at Maelgwyn House in Harlech, somewhere new, as we usually stay in the Dolgellau area. Maelgwyn House occupies a fantastic spot with terrific views of the cardigan bay with the Llyn Peninsular in easy view. Nothing was too much trouble... More

We almost never frequent B&Bs, but so glad we stayed at the Maelgwyn House. We had a front room overlooking the water and Harlech Castle. The accommodations exceeded our expectations with a very comfortable, and tastefully decorated, room and excellent breakfasts. Bridget and Derek were delightful hosts. My only suggestion would be to ditch the IKEA-like chairs in front of... More

Very friendly and well priced. Pity about the weather, but it was just one of those days (wet and very windy). Great location with parking which is very handy (good for keeping your bike out of sight). The nearby pool is great and they now have a climbing wall which is good for those rainy days.

We agree with other reviews, one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in. Location and views fantastic. Hospitality, rooms and breakfast exactly as you would want them - Derek and Bridget very friendly hosts. Evening restaurant recommendation excellent. If we are in the Harlech region again we know where we will be staying.

We had a lovely room at the front of the house looking out onto the beautiful Llyn Peninsula, the room was spotless with a small en suite. The house has a very homely feel to it and the welcome from both Bridget and Derek was both warm and genuine. The house doubles as a gallery for some of Derek's artwork... More

One of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in. Lovely hosts, amazing location and views from the rooms, really good breakfast and a very homely feeling in the whole house. The room was spottless clean and very comfortable. Bridget and Derek were very helpful with tips for the area such as hiking and a very good caribbean restaurant in... More

This B&B was impressive from the moment we pulled up. We were welcomed and settled into our room by Bridget and Derek, very charming hosts, and soon felt relaxed and comfortable. The view from the window in room 2 is wonderful: we saw Snowdon framed between the turrets of the castle and watched the sun go down over the sea.... More
