We were met by the sweetest hotel receptionist ever, who took us to a room with a stunning view overlooking the valley and the walled garden, with the sea in the distance. Large room with floor to ceiling sash windows and a huge bed. The Travelzoo offer's sloe gin was waiting and very tasty. The bathroom was large and very... More

Wiinding up a narrow country lane well away from the main road we arrived at the hotel..a very restful, peaceful location. It was a package we had booked through Travelzoo,& not quite sure what to expect, but it was a real weekend treat for my husband & I.The staff were helpful & polite, the room very comfy & cosy, with a small decanter of... We stayed for midweek 2 night break 9th/10th May ( kgb deal ). We upgraded our room at extra cost giving us additional sitting area, 2 bathrooms ( 1 with shower which was excellent ) 7 pleasant view towards the mountains. The welcome, comfort factor & staff were all well up to expectations. We ate in the restaurant both nights... More

E mail confirmation gave neither phone number nor directions and several miles were wasted trying to locate. Long potholed drive with low car ground clearance resulted in one passenger having to walk to the building. Sign lying on ground, another sign was dirty, grounds unkempt, external decor poor and the mat to our coach house room was filthy with mud... More

The long drive (potholes to be avoided) through a lovely garden promises something special...but oh dear. In our opinion the Faulty Towers of Wales! And may be you will stay because of it? The cream of the cream tea on arrival had a sickly sweet cannister-like taste, whipped to an inch of its life with copious sugar added, revolting in... More

We used sat nav to get there rather than the directions given by hotel and ended up on some wonderful roads leading to the Hotel - Narrow and steep but great fun. Staff were great and friendly, room was nice and grounds to the Hotel are lovely. They have a walled garden where many of the vegetables are grown. Their... More

Having booked our visit with Travelzoo offer , we paid in December 2011 for what we thought would be a nice break in April 2012 . When we phoned the hotel to book , we were told in a very unpleasant manner that ' Travelzoo People ' were not able to stay at there at weekends ,( making us feel... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights on our Anniversary. Beautiful scenery and great hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble and the owners and staff always accompanied help with a smile. The restaurant has 2 AA rosettes and the food was very good, although I thought the choice on th e dinner menu was a bit limited on... More

After staying in another hotel the night before this place was a much welcomed quiet retreat after our climb up the snowy mountain. Staff were friendly, rooms were spacious ours had been refurbished at the front of the hotel 1st room on the ast floor (can't remember the name) but our friends room although larger was more dated but still nice-... We have visited this hotel for a three night break 9 times now and it is always excellent. The hotel itself is full of character and each room is different. We usually stay in Artro which is particularly charming. The outstanding feature of this hotel is the food which is fine dining at its best. I have read reviews where... More
