We have tried several B and Bs in this area but Brora Lodge is the best. It may look like an ordinary bungalow from the road but it hides a view from the breakfast conservatory that is unsurpassed. It looks across an RSPB reserve and the veiw stretches to Cumbria on the far side of the Solway Firth. The bedrooms... More

We stayed at Borra Lodge on a recent short break for two nights, it was a wonderful experience. We were welcomed with coffee and a chat and shown to an outstanding room, with everything one could wish for from a B+B. Both the full breakfast on the first morning and the delicious omleltte on the second morning were top drawer.... More

We stayed for 2 nights recently and were very comfortable and well looked after by the friendly owners. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. All in all, good value for money.

Had a nice one-night stay. The owners were friendly and helpful and the room and breakfast were both great. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Our second stay at brora lodge and as the last time I cant find anything to complain about, it really is just about perfect. I decided to try the haddock for breakfast on our second morning and it was lovely. This is a perfect base for the Galloway forest park which is a good place to spend some time. At... More

I stayed at Brora Lodge for 4 weeks whilst on placement in Wigtown and could not have wished for a better home away from home. The entire BnB was spotless and the rooms were fantastic with great en suite facilities and ample wardrobe space. The guest lounge provided a great place to relax and even had sky sports HD so... Stayed Friday and Saturday night with 2 friends and we all agreed that this place is really special. Helen was so friendly right from the moment of booking to when we said our goodbyes. The place is spotless, the beds comfortable and the breakfast delicious, with fantastic views across the bay from the conservatory where it is served. Highly recommend... More

Just back from a short visit to the Book Festival with a blind friend. Helen and Peter were unobtrusively helpful, full of local advice, and dished up a smashing breakfast. We're both now keen to return to a beautiful peaceful area, and a spotless B and B with such kind and enthusiastic hosts. And not a midge in sight...

We've just spent a fabulous week at Brora Lodge - a very comfortable and clean B&B. Helen & Peter are really friendly and are on hand if and whenever you need them. Great breakfasts while enjoying panoramic views over Wigtown Bay. You'll not go hungry here ! Set in a quiet spot on the edge of the village and close... More
