Looked good from the website but was very much overpriced for what we got. Bed at least was clean and comfortable but decor from the 70s, room looked like it hadn't been refurbished in years and not very clean. Black mould in the bathroom. Very neglected and run down. Check in was in very noisy intimidating bar next door. Staff... More

We have stayed previously so new that we were getting a cheap and cheerful break. At £25 each it isn't that cheap mind . It's not as cheerful as it used to be either. What we hadn't factored was no heating or hot water. We were provided electric heaters which were ok but the lack of hot water is not... More

Place is a bit rundown, but bed was clean, staff friendly, basic pub grub , cooked breakfast not bad, very cheap compared to other places in the area.

My wife and I stayed at The Tyndrum Lodge Hotel for one night in August 2011. The name conjures up some sort of shooting lodge frequented by weary travellers and offering the finer things in overnight accomodation. The reality could not be more different. The place is very shabby and a mausoleum to the King of rock and roll Elvis... More

This place is a nasty eclectic mix of a poor attempt at a blues brothers themed bar with overpriced not very nice beer, a never open except for cold breakfast American 1950's diner and the bad scene's from the films 'Trainspotting' and 'The Shining' but with a slight Irish twang (its called paddy's) thrown in. Somehow, and I can't believe... More

I have stayed in Tyndrum Lodge Hotel well over a dozen times and don't think it deserves one star. Yes, the place is basic, there are lots of faults and it could do with a major refurbishment but where else can you get a room to yourself with breakfast for £20 per night. It costs this much to stay in... More

This is by far the worst place I've ever stayed. Avoid at all costs. Stay in a b and b. If you have to stay here really don't expect much. Don't touch anything. You'll struggle to face the mouldy, leaking shower. Ridiculous the amount this 'hotel' is charging for the state of it. Surely it can afford a refurb! It... More

This was the lowest point of our journey on the West Highland Way! Forget about the constant rain, which managed to run down my neck and into my boots! Forget about the sky, so grey that I felt I was travelling through the plains of Mordor! Forget about the 25kg+ rucksack... forget about every ache and every pain! The Tyndrum... More

I stayed at the Tyndrum Lodge Hotel for four nights & that was enough. Good points. Bed Linen Clean. WC Clean. Staff Friendly & helpful. Cheap. Kettle worked. Bad points. Room small. Bed very small. Carpet thread bare. Mould on window frame. I had to turn the shower on 15 minutes before I took a shower & then the pressure... More

I took my walking boots off at the front door but then realised that this wasn't necessary as my boots appeared to be cleaner than the carpets in the hotel (including the one on our room). Had to ring the bell three times to check in. This could've been down to the loud rock n roll music at the front... More
