Room very small and bathroom was extremely small burnt knee on heated towel rail when sitting on toilet, hot water was tepid not hot. The only source of hot water was from the shower. Bedroom was clean but too small for a couple . Was supposed to be twin room but could not walk between the beds as it was that... More

I stayed here with 3 friends while walking the West Highland Way. The facilities were much as I expected. We were in a dorm for 6. There was a sink and only 2 electrical sockets in the room. There wasn't much space around the bunkd but that's to be expected in a hostel. We only ate breakfast there, we chose... More

This hostel is a sight for sore eyes after walking part 2 of the West Highland Way. It is clean and comfortable, the showers are hot and plentiful and the food is good and well priced. You also get a stunning a view of Loch Lomond in the morning light. Most people who stay here are next to knackered after... More

I stayed here with a friend during a Motorbike trip. The hostel itself was clean and seemed to be very well run. Showers and kitchen were clean and the breakfast was of a reasonable standard. The hostel itself is in an excellent location by the Loch. There is a nice Pub about 1/2 a mile away along a nice path.... More

We stayed in a two-person bunkbedded room, which was placed right next to a shower room. Therefore it was very loud as people showered till late in the evening. Also the window to the hallway which didn't have blinds was quite annoying. The meals were okay.

After a long, wet day on the WHW, this was a welcome site. My dorm room was clean and full of quiet hikers. The dry room was a revelation for me. Just brilliant. I suppose you need rooms like that in Scotland. :) So convenient to have a place to get all your wet gear hung up and drying in... More

The hostel was ok, nothing amazing, but nothing to bad. When we arrived, the guy at reception was polite but looked like he had had a long day...... He did inform us of the dinner, breakfast and packed lunches and explained about checking out etc. Our room was a bit small, but clean, the window had a midge net over... More

We stayed at the Rowardennan Lodge after the second day of walking the West Highland Way. We were not expecting a ton from this youth hostel, but were still a bit disappointed. As a group of four, we had our own room. However, that room was FILLED with dead midges, and had several live ones flying around too. We immediately... More

We walk the WHW each year and each year try and stay in the same accommodation. It has to be said that they try their best at the Hostel or as we affectionately call it - The Borstal ! It's clean, the shower is powerful and the food is good. It's really just what you need after the treck from... More

I should caveat my review by saying this is the first time I have stayed in a Youth Hostel but nonetheless I was expecting a bit more of a welcome on arrival from Drymen on day 2 of the West Highland Way trek. The rooms and showers were full of midges but the water was hot and the pressure was... More
