Open fires, rustic decor, great and unusual food. Good portions. service is sometimes a little slow but enjoy gazing into the fire. kids menu has real food, not the usual kids junk. lots of areas for sitting for small and large groups. Great leaher club chairs in front of open fire. great portions of soup with huge sandwiches.

Went for homemade pie night...food was lovely...atmosphere very nice with mix of rustic and modern surroundings. Very reasonable price. Waiters all pleasant bar one gentleman. Very very ignorant ( short haired gentleman) Asked what we wanted...my partner gave order then he just walked from me without asking or saying anything. Needless to say...she had desert I had none.

If you are after basic but good value food Balloch Hotel has a decent menu. After looking around the area this restaurant was much better than the cheap eats also in town.
