We stayed here while doing the WHW, the rooms have a lot of character (as does the rest of the place) We had a great meal (standard pub food) and being a Saturday there was great live music, luckily we stayed in the bar until last orders otherwise sleeping would have been a challenge with the music on below our... My wife and I regularly visit this quirky pub/hotel. The food is good plain fair, nothing to fancy but value for money. The staff are always exceptional and the atmosphere is fantastic. If you are looking for a well appointed establishment then you may be disappointed after all it has been an Inn since 1705 and looks as if nothing... More

best to go in the dark for the experience. very busy as always as only thing worth going to considering distances involved going elsewhere. worth a visit if in the area if only to say you have been there. took a while to get served and find a sea.

this is a very old building so dont expect it to be glossy. its interesting from a historical point of view and because its so different. personally i find so many hotels to be soul-less places, so alike you could be anywhere. from the outside it looks really amazing. you enter the building and see a large snarling bear who... Arrived exhausted after 12 hours walking from Balmaha. Reception experience was good and we chose to eat and drink straightaway. There did not seem to be any urgency in serving us or ordering a drink which was a shame and there seemed to be a lot of new staff training. The food in general was ok but nothing special just... This was such a great place after a hard day's walk. We did have a warm welcome; and then to discover the (I suspect rather contrived) shabby chic of the bedrooms was just fun. The beautiful inviting whiteness of the bedlinen on the four poster bed, the immaculate towels and the rather smart bathroom complemented wonderfully the old-fashioned furniture. Good... More

This was our second stop on the West Highland Way. I have been coming to The Drovers for many years and have always enjoyed my stays, so to stay here on a Friday night was and introduce my son to the unique atmosphere was a must. We arrived soaking through and extremely tired after a veryhard and very wet walk... More

The review for this hotel-on our 3rd day walking the WHW would have been excellent if it wasn't for an incident as we arrived. We had walked for 14 miles along the very pretty but quite challenging shore of Loch Lomond and were looking forward to settling in for the night. When we reached the reception the girl was working... More

We were booked to stay at the Drovers Inn but found we were actually across the road at the Drovers Lodge. No atmosphere there! Wouldn't stay there in summer as you couldn't open the windows for air due to the midges and it would be very hot and stuffy. Feel we were misled. If you were lucky enough to get... More

We were told by some friends we made in Inverness that we had to take a detour on our drive back to Edinburgh. So glad we did the food and atmosphere were wonderful. We are planning to come back to Scotland again and stay here for a few days to explore. The haggis was the best hands down of all... More
