My husband, daughter and I had the immense pleasure of spending one night here in October. It is one of the very best B&B's we have stayed in. Everything from the accommodation (online photos do not do it justice) the breakfast, the location, the masses of tourism information provided, and of course Steve's warm and friendly welcome could not be... Wonderful B&B. Everything is so well thought out from the provision of extensive information on the local area to the nice quality furnishings and the perfect breakfast with lots of home-made touches. Couldn't fault the place at all and whilst there I was trying to work out how soon we could get back there to stay again- unfortunately not this... More

Hi SueMScotland! Thank you for your lovely review! You are not the first to comment on the effort which went in to gathering all the local information - I recall the praise we received from our Visit Scotland "mystery guest" when we first opened! As I mentioned during your stay, whilst we have ceased our marketing activity with Visit Scotland... More

Fanastic B&B, exceptionally well-run; hosts Steve and Colette could not have been more accomodating (they even provided amazing weather!); spacious, immaculate rooms, delicious breakfast; a great home base when cycling or hiking (the countryside is spectacular & the roads far from busy); my ancestors left the area in the early 1800s to come to Canada -- it was a thrill... Hi Brian J, Thank you for your review. Sadly not everyone was as fortunate as you with the weather this year! Using one of our mountain bikes you were certainly able to thoroughly explore the area and all it has to offer. I am so pleased that the local history books were so useful for you and it was fascinating... More

A lovely peaceful setting very near to the wonderful Kilmartin Glen and its amazing ancient sites. Steve was always so helpful with local information and helping us with packed lunches and breakfasts when we went farther afeild--The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. Food was delicious with fresh baked bread every morning! I hope to return--I would not hesitate to... More

Hi Susan C! Thank you for writing a review, and especially for finding the time after such a long distance house move - this beautiful part of Argyll is certainly a good pace to relax away from the stresses and strains of moving house! We are fortunate indeed to live in an area of such archaeological interest, and with Kilmartin... More

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the room and service at this out-of-the-way place. Steve and Colette had thought of each detail to make my stay there more comfortable. The bed was more comfortable than my own at home and the place was immaculate. On the week-ends they cook an excellent breakfast and on week days the continental... More

Hi Susan F, Thank you for your comments. It is nice to hear that you appreciated the comfortable bed - it was a conscious decision to furnish our B&B to a high standard prior to opening. As you point out this doesn't mean that we charge top dollar rates! Having taken the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery... More

Hi gailjc, thank you for taking the time to write a review following your stay with us. We are so pleased that you described it as a "home-from-home" experience as that is what we strive to achieve. As you know, we don't specifically ask people to write reviews for us and only a few do, so the fact that we... More

My partner and I visited Collete and Steve this weekend and it was just glorious. The weather was beautiful so we could explore and enjoy the scenery and surrounding areas. The room was hot (although it was 29degrees outside!) and very clean, modern with every amenity of a 5* hotel. Lovely and breakfast, and beautiful fresh and homemade selections of... More

Hi MScott18! Thanks for your positive feedback! we are glad that you enjoyed your short visit - perhaps you will be able to stay a little longer next time you are in this part of Argyll? I recall the "freak" weather when you visited 29/30 deg C is most unusual here - hence houses being designed to keep heat in!... More

I first stayed at the Stables B&B in 2009 and it was so good I returned in September 2011. A relative and I were frantic to find accommodation around the area of Lochgilipeg to no avail. Thankfully, the Tourist Information Centre there recommended we try The Stables in Achnamara. On arrival we found hosts Steve and Collette welcoming, warm, friendly... More

We have been to the area a number of times and not run out of things to do.
