My friend and I were looking for an overnight stop on our way back to the South of England from a weeks self catering in the Hebrides and decided to detour into Argyll with a view to seeking to return for a longer visit on another occasion. The house is very Victorian and Hamish and Charlotte have decorated and furnished... More

Returned to Allt-Na-Craig two years after our last visit. The views across the loch are truly stunning, helped by a wonderful sunny day. They've redecorated the rooms since we were last here so the standard was even higher, fabulous evening meal and a great breakfast - not sure I'll ever eat again! Highly recommended!

We arrived at the Allt-Na-Craig a little later than expected as our flight into Scotland had been delayed by a couple of hours. We did however receive a very warm welcome from Hamish & Charlotte who were wondering if we were going to turn up. After helping us with our bags and finding out we hadn't had dinner yet, Hamish... I stayed over at the Alt Na Craig house when working away for one evening. The location is ideal for travel between Lochgilphead & Campbeltown. Upon arrival i was given a warm greeting and offered use of the bar and tea's coffee. I was staying over in a family room as this is the only room they had left for... More

We booked this as a stopover on our journey home from Islay, (the ferry port is about 30-40 mins drive away). We arrived on a wet evening to a warm welcome and were soon sitting with glass of wine in hand! Dinner was delicious as was breakfast (they serve breakfast from 8.30 though which we thought a bit late). The... More

After 3 very wet days on the canal we took time out at Allt Na Craig. On arrival the welcome was fantastic and accommodation was top class. Our wet dogs and wet clothes were swiftly dried. If you are looking for a spot on hotel where the owners go the extra mile then this is the one. Looking forward to next... More

Make no mistake - this is very much a 'guest house' rather than a hotel. A converted multi-bedroom house with large garden, Allt-Na-Craig feels like a small, family-run establishment with a friendly welcome and nice personal touches. It is almost certainly the best option in the local area, which is hardly a tourist hub flanked by bigger draws Oban to... More

What a fab place, and dog friendly too - it'll take my doggies an age to recover from all those lovely walks in this stunning location. Charlotte and Hamish provided perfect hospitality, very scrummy food, beautiful location and home from home comforts :o) Well done - I will certainly be recommending. **PS (please have a word with David at Fletchers Deli... Charlotte & Hamish are very friendly hosts. We were of group of 13 people and filled the complete house. The dinner was excellent, freshly cooked. For breakfast they prepared sandwiches because we had to leave very early. The house is beautiful in Victorian style. I enjoyed the room with whirlpool and sea view!

We stayed here on our Honeymoon part II, back in November 2010. I had been researching west coast hotels and B & Bs which had a whirlpool or jacuzzi, and found this place. The downside of everything was that it poured non-stop for a couple of days on our holiday. Ach well. Easy to find with Mr SatNav, and the... More
