Raasay House is currently being rebuilt after the devastating fire on 18 January 2009. Much of the interior of this historic building was destroyed, just as a multi–million pound refurbishment was nearing completion. Accommodation is now available at the Borodale House hotel just next to Raasay House. Originally built in the 1870s as the Estate Manager’s house, it passed through various owners before becoming a hotel in 1981.All but two of the twelve comfortable en-suite bedrooms have spectacular views across the sound of Raasay to the Cuillin on Skye. The cafe and restaurant, lounge and garden are all open to non-residents and all offer dramatic sea views. We can welcome up to 24 guests in the hotel. For larger groups we can arrange extra accommodation elsewhere on the island. And whether you’re after an informal, relaxing base from which to explore Raasay or an exciting program of activities, you’ll still be able to enjoy the trademark service and hospitality that has always been such an important part of the Raasay House experience.
