We were very happy to find a room in Tarbert on such short notice at this time of the year. Particularly so, as it was at the Tigh Na Mara that was recommended by the Rough Guide to Scotland. And it was a very nice place to stay at indeed. When our friendly hostess showed us our room we were... More

My wife and I spent three very comfortable nights with Mrs Flora Morrison at Tigh na Mara. The bedrooms are compact but comfortable and scrupulously clean. We spent one night in a twin without facilities and two in an ensuite family room and were very happy with both. There is a residents' lounge and Mrs Morrison is relaxed about guests... More

We arrived on an early ferry. We were tired, hungry, and needed to wash our clothes. We merely inquired if it would be possible to drop off our things before heading into town for some food. Mrs Flora invited us in and before we knew it she had interrupted her usual schedule, reset the dining room for breakfast, offered us... More

Stayed for just one night. Our room was clean with a good sized window and view of the sea. Breakfast was good with plenty of tea and coffee available. Location was excellent, easy walking distance from the ferry terminal. We headed to the Harris Inn for a drink, which again was local. Decor slightly old worldy but this added to... More

Tigh Na Mara it's an excellent place to be in quiet and peaceful Tarbert. Mrs Flora gives you a kind welcome and a treatment with a flavour of yesteryear that fits perfectly with the place. Our room was nice and spacious, with a suitable bathroom and fantastic views. Lounge and dining room are fine, with great views to the coast,... More

Mr. and Mrs. Morrison where wonderfully accommodating, friendly and competent. Good breakfast and rooms. Plenty of room for us, three of us were traveling together. And a great place to launch from to see all of Harris from St. Clements to the coasts. No problem recommending this to anyone and would return here if/when we make it back to Harris. More

Mrs Morrison made me feel so at home! I had the single room overlooking the bay and the deer at dawn. I slept like a baby. AND! Mrs Morrison makes the best coffee I had in four weeks in Scotland! More

This B+B is a short walk from the centre of Tarbert and the ferry and has gorgeous views over the loch – interrupted only by some scrub which on our visit was populated by two stags. This is a traditional B+B where you stay in a converted bedroom in the owners house (i.e. not purpose built). As well as the... More

Mrs. Morrison seems to have earned quite a reputation for her hospitality, and we were made very welcome at this charming B&B overlooking the sea. There are shops and amenities just a few minutes walk away, and more if you go a little further over to West Tarbert. More

Well situated b&b, 5 min walk from Tarbert's bus station (important factor for those of us who don't have a car) with superb views over the port, the sea and the islands beyond. Warm welcome by Mrs Flora Morrison who cooks a wonderful breakfast - and bakes great cakes. P.S. there is also off street parking facilities for those of... More
