We couldn't have asked for more. The house was beautifully decorated, the bed was comfortable, the breakfasts tasty, but best of all was the welcome from Joanna and her family, who really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Before accepting our booking, Joanna thoughtfully checked that we didn't mind sharing... More

A wonderful little B&B. Joanna and her family are sincerely friendly and generous hosts, offering a real 'home from home'. They gave us plenty of great advice about what to see and do during our trip, and when we weren't sloshing around the island (we went in early April and it rained all week!), we were kept cosy and warm... I took my daughter (Blu) to the Bealach Uige B&B, we were travling on our own and wanted some where we felt comfortable and safe, Joanna, Alan and her family made us feel very at home and welcoming. It was our first ever experience of B&B and well now the level of expectations have been set very high !!!!! having... More

You can't get better than this - beautiful house and such friendly hosts - we felt like we were visiting family. Amazing location and views too. Bed also even more comfortable than our own with plumped up feather pillows and duvet!

Our first trip to the Isle of Skye- early November- and for all that seasonal remoteness, we were lucky enough to find this gem of a B&B! Beautifully decorated accommodation that combined luxury and quirky style, with a much needed cosiness. Our attentive hosts Jo, Allan and their lovely kids were supremely welcoming, enthusiastic, and more than happy to point... More

Well, this review will not be as necessary as others I am going to do for Scotland, because of points the same : this is an incredible B&B, with a terrific owner and manager, and mother, Joanna. It goes beyond just operating a B&B for revenues: Joanna puts her own style and taste into reality to offer you a mix... More

I stayed for 2 nights at Bealach Uige with my partner and his American cousin and her friend, and we couldn't have wished for a better experience! From the outset, Joanna and her lovely family (husband Alan and adorable children) made us feel totally welcome - so much so that it was more like staying with family than at a... More

Joanna made our trip to Skye extra special. The accommodation was very tasteful decorated and comfortable and it was great to have a feather and down duvet and pillows. The breakfast was excellent which my husband really enjoyed and very accommodating for a veggie! My husband and I felt so welcomed by Joanna that it was difficult to leave, we... More

This is a wonderful base from which to explore the beauties of the Trotternish Peninsula – or the entire Isle of Skye, for that matter. The rooms in the lovingly restored old croft house are tastefully furnished with all amenities (including free Wi-Fi) and the hosts seem to have thought of everything. Their breakfasts are both quite ample and varied... More

I'm so glad that 1) we chose to stay in Staffin during our 2 nights in Isle of Skye, and 2) we chose to stay at Bealach Uige B&B during this time. This b&b has so much charm. It's run by Joanna, who is likeable, fun, & accomodating. Staying here was soooo relaxing. Joanna made us feel right at home.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
A warm highland welcome awaits you at our beautifully renovated family croft house. We renovated and extended a traditional croft house in 2003 and have managed to modernize it without losing the Highland Croft House character. I have managed to weave some of my grandmothers antique furniture into the décor so the rooms have a traditional feel while being fresh and modern with a touch of luxury for the visitors to the Trotternish Peninsula of Skye. We are situated on a working croft in the quiet Gaelic speaking crofting village of Staffin. Staffin is 16 miles North of the capital Portree, 50 miles from the toll free bridge and a 20 minute drive to Uig ferry terminal. ... more   less
