We stopped here to have a drink in the late afternoon after a walk. The bar was closed, as was the restaurant, so we were directed to a lovely lounge bar with good views down the valley. I had a good coffee, followed by a fresh orange and lemonade (sorry, can't speak for the beer or the wine as we... More

Although its a beautiful 1920s building the Decor looks like an 80s travellodge. Not very warm welcome, not enough milk and sugar for the comp tea and coffees. Could do do with updating and deep cleaning. Overall a average and not not worth the price, stating in some much nicer, friendlier, cleaning b & bs around here for less money.

I've only ever eaten here never stayed but i've enjoyed each meal i've had here over the past few months. The first time I ate here this year we sat sat through in the Mackenzie Bar which is cosy with sofas and comfy chairs. The menu had enough to offer on the blackboard with light dishes such as soups and... More

Not the cheapest option in Skye, but a great location at the foot of the Cuillin - with stunning views all around. We had room 18 which was upstairs and looked out over beautiful peaks. It's a great base for hiking - especially if you want to bag nearby Briach na Frithe (the "easy" munro in the Cuillin range). We... More

I stayed here for 2 nights in September, I found it very expensive for what you got in terms of the room size & facilities. The hotel also seemed under staffed, more noticeably during breakfast. I would probably not stay here again, unless the prices were decreased. The plus points was the fantastic whisky choice in the bar next door,... More

Sitting on the fence on this one. We had to keep reminding ourselves that this hotel was on Skye and was in the middle of no where. But saying that that is no excuse to charge stupid sums of money for the basics; £10 each for breakfast which is on par with a travel lodge is well slightly stupid especially... More

I stayed In the Hotel for Four days, It was very warm and cosy, The staff were very kind and Helpful. The Meals were good, But the Menu needed a little bit added to it as There was not much to choose from. The Breakfast were Great It's always nice to wake up to something so nice. It is set... More

This historic hotel is in a beautiful location, but the rooms are in dire need of updating and renovations. In spite of it being called a "hotel", there is no one to help you with your luggage! The bar area is kind of fun, but the restaurant area has no charm (but a great view.) The food is OK. My... More

Firstly, I dont think this hotel claims to be top notch and it isn't but it does fill a void and is very comfortable. I stayed here for a couple of nights recently in the self catering lodge. The place was clean, warm and comfortable and the caretakers of the lodge were very helpful, friendly people. I also ate at... More

The Sligachen Hotel is situated in what must be the most beautiful location in the British Isles, at the foot of the Cuillin range. It's a pity that the restaurant / bar just doesn't live up to expectation. It has no "atmosphere", it was cold, the bar staff could do with cracking a smile occasionally and the food was bland...
