We ended up in Portree at 4.30pm on Easter weekend and this was one of the few places with a room available. It's at the top of a long hill overlooking Portree and you could be on a housing estate anywhere in the world, picturesque it isn't. The welcoming was friendly enough however and the room was functional and spotlessly... More

Was booked into this B&B thru the 3 day isle of Skye tour. Wouldn't have chosen this for the price of £76 for a twin room. First of all, it's abt 7-10mins away from the town (located up on the hill). Not a big problem since we enjoyed the serenity of the neighborhood. The room is obviously outdated but gave... More

We were booked in this B&B by a touring company as part of a 3-day trip to Skye. I would not have chosen it myself. The house was modern and lacking in charm. The room was clean, although small. The bed was comfortable but creaked loudly. The bath was clean but tiny. The breakfast was OK, but not as hearty... More

The usual happened! I chose to follow the online brochure description, but I should have checked on here first. Silly Me! Booking online was simple enough, until their booking form once downloaded, went into spiels of information about non-arrival charges, etc., etc. Admirable, but completely over the top. And beware, one required last question about your Credit Card's Security Code... More

nice rooms yes but totally in personal service thats how it felt a few years back so from what i have read it has not changed my advice is for the owners to try a new edge maybe go for self catering then they dont have to worry about their guests---cause they dont anyway

We stayed there for 2 nights in room number 4. The room & bathroom was very clean and we like the small touches in the room like fruit ,cookies and visitor tour book with details of places of interest and eating joints nearby . It is situated uphill and 10mins walk from bus station seems a lot to walk with... More

It simply lacked warmth and reception. We never actually met our hostess. The room was ok but lacked a "homey" feel. It felt more like a hotel then a B&B.

We arrived at the stipulated 5pm check-in time and were welcomed by a grumpy owner as we had arrived too early (5 minutes). Were shown to our room which we then found to be uncleaned - there was blonde hair over the tea and coffee facilities and the shower still had used sachets of bodywash in. We felt more sorry... More

I am a non UK, over30, single female traveller. I had been told by my Glaswegian friend that I shouldn’t expect too much connection with people from the Highlands (and especially in Skye) as they are supposed to be overwhelmed by tourists like me during summer, and I was travelling early June (2009). He wasn’t sure also I would get... More

Agree with the previous review. I stayed there for a couple of nights and was very impressed by this B&B. Mary and Alison make you feel right at home from the minute you arrive and you have no doubt that they know their craft well. Rooms are clean, well appointed and a good size with tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits... More
