Ali and Shona were very friendly and helpful, with lots of advice on what to see and do. My wife any I had a average sized room without en-suite. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful and, as others have highlighted, the location is great for the town and for the ferry. If you are traveling on a budget, I would... More

We had a lovely stay, Ali and Shona were very accommodating of us being a group of six musicians on a tight budget! Friendly welcome, great service, couldn't have asked for more - we will definitely stay again if we come back to Stornoway!

I Stayed 5 nights at this fantastic very well run guest house in November 2011 while working on the Island. My breakfast was exceptional and service was great. My room was very clean with tartan carpets and local Harris Tweed used in all the rooms. This was a wonderful example of western Isles hospitality. The location is also great for... More

Nice room, decorated very cute. There is a laptop available for use. However, there was nothing exceptional about our stay. Unlike other reviews of breakfast for those leaving on the early ferry... we were left out cold cereal and a pitcher of milk and juice. And no reduction in the room rate...

I often stay in different b&b's but found the hospitality of the gentleman who's recently took over to be second to none , the room was just what was required after a days work warm , comfortable with an en-suite and large shower . The breakfast which the host got up at 0530 to make for us was also lovely... More

Informative, engaging and ever helpful hosts who provide wonderful hospitality and excellent food in warm and scrupulously clean accommodation - the reason why we keep returning, and epitomising all that is good in the Western Isles.

We stayed one night at Hal O' the Wynd guest house in Stornoway and found it to be a pleasant and comfortable refuge on a very stormy night. But it did not resemble the glowing descriptions we read on Tripadvisor. It was a much more modest but still satisfactory bed and breakfast. We were very glad to find it after... More

Just opposite the port of Stornoway. Luckily they had a room because the crossing from Ullapool was a real pain for me (but I do easily sea sick). The room on the ground floor was very nice. Probably the most comfortable beds we had in Scotland. I had a fantastic dream (famous actor wanting to marry me.... guess that !)... More

If you are going to Lewis this B & B is right opposite The ferry Landing. It has recently been taken over by a young couple and they are from Lewis. We are so glad that we picked this one to go to. Reasonable rates Lovely breakfasts near resturants for dinner, taxi service was great (weather was terrible). Meals we... More
