I stayed at this friendly and welcoming hostel which is also attached to a B&B and would highly recommend it. The nearest shop is a couple of miles away so go well stocked if you are intending to self cater. When I arrived I'd had a couple of rather wet nights in my tent and was very grateful to the... More

Thank you for your kind words.Somewhat confusingly you have have the correct location but under the name of a different establishment some twenty miles distant. You are forgiven, since both are unique and share the same sense of Hebridean heritage and hospitality. The fact you stayed longer than planned shows you enjoyed your stay, which is very pleasing to hear More

As we traveled around Scotland in July 2012, we found Galson Farm to be an excellent, cozy, clean and well ordered b&b. The food, which Hazel prepares on an Aga, for both dinner and breakfast was excellent. The location is fabulous both beautiful and close to Ness. The first evening my friend met relatives in the parlor where David kindly... More

This is an old style working farm where David and Helen made us very welcome. The bedrooms and sitting rooms are very comfortable and clean and the breakfasts and dinners are good quality and plentiful. We didn't bother with much for lunch! The location is lovely and well off what passes for a main road on the Isle of Lewis... More

We stayed at Galson Farm for two nights in June 2012. Great welcome when we arrived (including tea and flapjacks!); lovely house; great location; exceptionally clean ensuite accommodation; great breakfast. We would definitely stay there again. Steve Walker

We checked in to Galson Farm, two couples, onr from Oz, one from Dundee. WE liked the quirky signs directing us to door, meet & greet from David, Hazel out riding . David invited us to one of the lounges where he had made tea/coffee & very yummy slice for us. We had well cooked breakfast with impeccably set table,... More

David and Hazel made us more than welcome to their farm. Comfortable lounges ,bedroom that lacked nothing and a dining room groaning with food. David made the flapjack that he gave us with our cup of tea, along with all the sweets. Hazel is an excellent cook and served different meals for each of the three nights stay. They were... More

Lovely setting near the sea. Our room had one of the best beds on the whole trip. 95% of the beds we slept on were firm to very firm (hard to very hard) and this one was a nice medium. From our window at night we could see the lighthouse at the top of the island. The light was faint... More

Stayed two nights in bunkhouse in company of other solo travelers, and the location could not have been better. The bunkhouse was clean, cozy, warm, friendly. The farm itself is gorgeous and the sea is just down the way, sunsets are a step away from the door. Very highly recommended for bunkhouse element. Did not stay in B&B.

Simply put, you need to GO to Galson Farm. It takes some time and motivation to get to the Outer Hebrides, at least if you are not in the near vicinity, but it is beyond well worth it. The hosts, David and Hazel, are just wonderful people. The farmhouse was comfortable, clean, quiet, and, well, everything we had hoped it... More

Wonderful setting by the sea and accommodation in interesting house bursting with pictures and ceramics. Post Office in reception - you don't get that everywhere! Two wonderful sitting rooms and proprietors who are on hand to chat and are the essence of hospitality. Gargantuan breakfasts cooked by Dave and updates daily on the lambing. My father is 88 and every... More
