We stayed for one night at the Trout Fly and had a very pleasant stay. Very nice rooms with own bathroom. The the breakfast was delicious. We arrived in the morning a bit late for our Lagavulin tour and Mary took us there in her car - great service! More

Spent three nights at the Trout Fly and enjoyed them very much. The B&B is ideally situated to explore the southern Islay distilleries, the owners are welcoming and gracious, the rooms are immaculately clean and comfortable, and the breakfasts are delicious. More

Very friendly (we arrived after 10 following late ferry and it was no problem); well equipped room with ensuite and tea and coffee making facilities; great breakfast; excellent location just a short distance from the three distilleries this end of the island. More

Mary and Donald went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The food was fabulous and the bedroom, living room, and bathroom were comfortable and clean. Great location for visiting the three distilleries near Port Ellen and for dinner at the White Hart. We hope to return soon! More

To start off, the welcome that the owners Donny & Mary give is warm and makes you feel at home straight away. With maps and advice on what to see all at hand, we were away exploring the island straight away. We were only there for 2 nights and we saw the best of Islay thanks to their advice. The... More

We stayed for two nights and our room and bath was clean, modern and quiet. The breakfast was very good and the owner very serviceminded. Very good location if you're interested in whisky with three distilleries nearby and close to the ferry from the mainland. More

Imagine my excitement at having won 2 flights to one of the Scottish Isles at a Fundraising night in February! Having never visited any of the Islands previously my husband and I opted to travel to Islay - my dad used to work there many years ago building the piers and stayed in Port Ellen during this time. We originally... More

Having never visited Isla before we were taking a chance with how any accomodation was placed but the Trout Fly was one of the cheapest priced and i can't imagine any of the more expensicve ones being better. Fresh cooked breakfast to order every day and the use of space in the rooms was very clever(my husband is 6'4 and... More

We stayed in a twin room, the bedroom was bright and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the ensuite bathroom was convenient. The must of our stay was Mary and Donald, our host, very friendly and mary's breakfast was the best we had in Scotland. The B&B is well located in Port Ellen (one of the ferry stop), you... More
