Stayed for one night whilst attending a wedding locally. Our rooms were ready early in the day which was very useful to us. Booked two rooms, a twin in the extension and family room in the older part of the building. The twin was a good size and the family room was very spacious. The older part of the building... More

Good location, friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast and excellent service - best pot of tea ever. Bathroom had a bit of a musty odor. More

We stayed here for one night & found it to be very comfortable. The staff were so friendly & made it feel like a home away from home. We had the 2nd floor & had to carry suitcases but someone helped us so was no bother. The room was clean with tea/coffee making facility, tiny bathroom but it served it's purpose.... More

Fantastic "wee" pub/hotel, one of the best in Biggar. Can always be guananteed a lovely welcome, staff are freindly and lots of banter. The selection of food never seems to amaze me, and good value for money. More

This hotel is as close to the centre of Biggar as you could want. The attitude of all the staff was excellent as were the meals that we enjoyed. The hotel decor was tired but this was clearly being addressed by the owners as ongoing work showed. The room was spacious and the ensuite excellent. With the right staff and a... More

My family and I were staying for one night at the Eliphinstone Hotel while attending a wedding. We enjoyed our stay but the hotel entrance is a bit shabby and could do with updating and a touch of paint, the bedrooms were functional and clean and the breakfast fine. I was a bit surprised when I asked what I could... More

Lovely functional room for a family for one or two nights. Clean and very comfortable with good quality furniture in rooms and very comfy beds. Room had lots of style too which was a surprise. I did not get a good impression on check in with the owner informing us that you couldn't check in until 3pm, which I was... More

Overnight stay while going to a friends party in Biggar. Good sized room. Quirky decor. Some parts rather dated and shabby. Pleasant staff. OK as a place to get your head down for a couple of nights. More

Recently had dinner at the Elphinstone after hearing good reports. Im afraid to say it was awful. King prawn curry with only 8 small prawns and less than half acup of rice for £14. An oriental beef salad which consisted of beef and cucumber...not much of a salad. To add insult to injury they charge 15pence for a glass of... More

First of all may I express my apologies that you did not enjoy your visit to our hotel. We try our best at all times to please our customers and I am disappointed that we did not do so on this occasion.
