From the moment we walked in the satff were a delight and nothing was too much trouble - how refreshing. The location of course is spectacular especially as we had the full range of weather, which made the scenery even more special. The food was great, just how big was that home-reared steak........................loved the 'farmers daughter' touches e.g. the large... More

Our stay at The Royal Hotel was bliss. Staff were friendly and made our stay special. The view from our room was beautiful. Food excellent, especially breakfast, which serves locally caught fish and fresh produce. The porch was ideal for sitting enjoying a glass of wine looking out to the moray firth......definately be back. Davidsons. Aberdeen.

Having stayed at The Royal on several occasions in the past we were really looking forward to the refurbishments and new owners. We found the price of a nights stay was expensive compared to other places in Scotland we stayed in that week.Simple things were lacking attention. The TV was not visible from one side of the bed (see photo on... More

I have never stayed at the hotel but visit regularly to take advantage of excellant locally sourced food. The porch in the summer is a beautiful evening spot, the benchs at the front ideal for the day. The cosy lounge bar is ideal in winter. Cromarty is stunning and the Royal is a wonderful place serviced by a ridiculously attractive... More

The proprietor works the hotel from the shop floor, the family have made it a treasure trove in refinement, and the kitchen is preparing food from local farms of a standard to compete with the best. Why follow Michelin Guides?

All were spotlessly clean..The view from our room was over the bay.. The food- breakfast certainly set you up for the day. Very fresh and well cooked. The breakfast waitress was lovely and... More

The customer service in this hotel could not be faulted. It was excellent from arrival to checking out. The owner was always busy, working the room in the bar and dining room and asking after guests elswhere. The staff seemed to take their lead from her and were very good. The evening meals were superb. The lamb fell off the... More

Booked this hotel last minute as I could not get one in Inverness and I have to say I was delighted with it. The rooms although being a bit dated, were spotlessly clean and comfortable , and the hotel staff very friendly. The meal I had was excellent,a lovely steak and the young waitress was helpful and friendly throughout. The view... More

I have just returned from a weekend stay in The Royal Hotel in Cromarty on business. I stayed in Room 1A, which I can highly recommend. The decor, furniture and four poster bed made me feel like royalty and the view from the window took my breath away, looking over the shore. The en-suite was, modern clean, complete with toiletries... More
