Absolutely freezing, eventually warmed up when we left the heating on ALL the time. AWFUL awful smell... the constant and horrific smell of dogs coming from the carpet and damp in living area and bedroom, which really ruined the weekend. Had to go out and buy air and carpet freshner to take the edge off it. We had a small... More

Thank you for your review of Ancarraig Lodges, I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience whilst staying with us. We do have lodges that are dog free, the Thistles whilst the Juniper lodges allow dogs. Between each stay the lodges are all aired and carpets are freshened. If you had raised the issue with me I could have tried... More

Had a fabulous bank holiday weekend stay in Ancarraig Lodges. Morag was very helpful and friendly and the location cannot be beat. The road to the lodges was somewhat scary at first and my passengers who were unsure of our destination as it was a surprise 40th wedding anniversary treat were in for a shock as the lane winds ever... Got to the lodges about 2.00pm after a 7 hour drive and there was a small sign saying reception was only open 4-5pm. Take this into consideration when travelling. It was not a major problem and when we met Morag, she was extremely helpful. The lodges are remote, 3 miles along a single track lane but this just added to... More

The Manageress Morag was very helpfull and we got extra electric cards on sale or return so we did not run out. Good pub in... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a comment. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay with us at Ancarraig Lodges. The lodges are 3 miles from Drumnadrochit along a single track road, the first mile of which is very steep with hairpin bends. This can seem quite some distance, but is a great chance for the passengers to... More

Stayed 4 nights in March and overall a very good trip. The site is located in a really scenic location, with great views. The lodges were well spaced apart, with plenty of parking and the manager was excellent. The lodge itself was timber framed with single glazing. It was clean and tidy when we arrived and the free WIFI worked... More

thank you for taking the time to leave us a comment. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, despite the cold. Unfortunately this March has been one of the coldest on record. 12p/unit for the electricity is the cost that we pay our provider, there is no mark up on the price. Reception is not staffed all the... More

I know its only march and i know we were in the highlands of scotland but these lodges were freezing, its an out of the way location which is fine but these lodges only have single glazing and you have to use pre paid electric cards at a fiver a time. When we arrived, the helpful reception lady (morag) said... More

thank you for taking the time to leave us a comment, as you've said it was March that you stayed with us and unfortunately it has been one of the coldest March's on record. We do have a programme of works to improve the fabric of the lodges and double glazing is on the list. The lodges are well spaced... More

I READ ALL THE REVIEWS AND TOOK A FLYER .............BIG BIG MISTAKE. how can the owner of these lodges really think that he is providing adequate holiday accomodation. I think the least anyone should expect is warm, dry, comfortable accomodation. where you can havean adequate hot shower in a warm bathroom with dry fresh towels.
