We stayed at Glengolly and were treated royally by the host and hostess. They are crofting people who can fix things and make thins happen. They certainly helped us in our time of difficulty. The welcome, accommodation and food were excellent.

I stayed for 5 nights, it was great, felt like home. Nice comfortable bedroom and a good breakfast. The demonstration that Martin gave with a couple of his dogs was unbelievable. Didn't hear the dogs in the night at all, it was silent!
We spent one night here in the family room - a double bed and a twin. Altho small it was very comfortable. Plenty of space in the bathroom. The guest lounge was probably the most comfortable one of our 30 day trip. Breakfast was excellent - my scrambled eggs were perfection, the whisky porridge was a hit with all, and...

Glengolly is a homely b&b. The main thing to recommend it are the dogs and we were thrilled to get a demonstration of their sheep-herding skills on the morning of our stay. It would certainly be worth checking in advance if this is going to be possible as understandably it might not always be so.
We stayed 2 nights during september. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The house is very much a home and we were made to feel very welcome. Breakfast was amazing. The best porridge ever. Spot the dog confirmed my opinion that sheep dogs are the most intelligent of dogs. The surrounding area is brilliant. Smoo Cave is stunning and...

Glengolly is in the centre of old durness, on the road to balnakeil bay, a very beatiful bay, with white sand and blue sea!
Martin is a very kind person, and his dogs (you do not hear and see them unless you ask martin!) are fantastic! We sow them working with sheeps....very very interesting!
The house is comfortable, everything is...

I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in this B&B compared to others that I had stayed in during our touring around UK. The host seemed too busy to put an effort into welcoming us and just briefly showed us our room before shuffling off again. Breakfast was more than sufficient and the surrounding countryside amazing.
We stayed for 6 nights in mid-June 2011, and were made welcome from the start. The rooms are clean, very comfortable and the breakfasts are quite amazing. what more can I say about the "special porridge"??? We were blessed with good weather, but on the one rainy day we relaxed all day in the B&B, just like being at home.
Stayed here for three nights in August 2010 and loved it. Very cozy and quiet room, wonderful hosts, friendly and helpful, excellent breakfast menu with incredible choices. Especially the smoked fish was lovely and being able to watch the sheepdogs at work was something truely special. Ideal location, not only quiet but also within walking distance to the beaches, several...

We spent 3 mights at Glengolly and loved it. The croft is perfectly located within walking distance of 2 places to eat - we recommend Mackays for fabulous food. The room was fine - spotlessly clean and a comfy bed, just could have done with a touch more heating, but I do feel the cold easily! There was tea &...
