Upon arriving it does appear to a very grand hotel and the bottom floor reflects this, however it is only upon getting to the bedroom that the problems arise. We have just spent 4 nights here. Location,food and staff excellent,but the hotel is in need of some "tlc". Having said that we were very happy overall and would definitely stay here again.

Have stayed at the Stottfield often in the past and was always pleased with the service but the hotel was looking a bit tired. On this occasion I was pleased to see improvements being made. The service was excellent and the food delicious, room was clean and comforable. We look forward to our next visit

Stayed here while visiting friends. The staff are all really nice. The rooms are tired& old, but the bed was comfy. They are refurbing the bar, which has lovely views. The breakfast was delicious and so for the price, it is an excellent place to stay as it is opposite the golf course.
