A family run hotel with the comforts of home. We truly enjoyed this place. There is so much to do on the island and it's great to return back to the hotel at night to shower, relax with a beer at the bar and then sit down for a great dinner. They also offer a nice breakfast in the morning.... More

Having been a previous time for food, brought a group of friends/ family back after a excellent walk in Lochranza area. We all agreed that this place had friendly staff, great food with generous portions and great views onto the Loch. There is an error in my previous review-16th April 2010- it should read 4 stars not 1! Can't edit it... More

We chose Lochranza Hotel for the stories we had heard about the whisky selection and we weren't disappointed. Extensive list and more being added all the time. The decor in the place is ok - just a bit old and tired now but it was clean, tidy and the staff we chatted to were friendly and happy to help out.... More

Received a warm welcome from waitress in bar and shown to our room - believe her name was Karen, had lots of local knowledge. I wish I could have said the same about the waitress in the bar that evening and the one who served breakfast the following morning!! In my opinion I had never come across such miserable waitresses.... More

Me and my wife have never really travelled out in scotland much before but due to lacking funds we decided that it was a cheaper option. We arrived of the boat in brodick and worked our way through to lochranza via one of the most beautiful routes i have ever drove on. As we reached lochranza we instantly fell in... More

I found this hotel had just the basics. The beds were adequate and the food ok. Never met one person in the whole hotel that smiled or made us feel welcome.

the hotel is situated in a scenic location and beautiful views can be had from some of the bedrooms but the ensuite was very tiny. Breakfast was disappointing as there was a limited choice of healthy alternatives . No fresh fruit or yoghurts were on offer, instead there was a choice between two cereals and tinned grapefruit. but they did... More

We'd spent a week on the main land a wanted to take a few days extra on Arran. Had spent one night in the south of the island and ended up at this hotel for the stay in the northern part. We needed a family room, which we got. Double bed plus bunk beds. Quite comfortable on the whole. Room... More

The location is stunning but the hotel a disappointment. We were only dinner guests but couldn't have felt less welcome; the service was poor. We appreciate that food travels further to reach Arran but the food is overpriced as only average quality. The lager was undrinkable. The bar windows were full of flies & insects, very off putting when eating... More
