Having read reviews we were certainly hesitant at staying, the rooms & bed linen clean, BUT WHY PLASTIC SHEETS ON THE BED? It does need up-dating, we only used the lodge for sleeping, so can't comment on breakfast, it was convenient for what we needed but I doubt if I would stay there again.

We were disappointed with our stay at Portland lodge. Although the staff are friendly it doesn't compensate for poor cleanliness. Get past the rather odd-looking exterior (it was, apparently, converted from offices) and you will find a basic, clean and comfortable place to stay. I had some difficulty in getting the tv to work and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We had a very friendly welcome from Karen and that set the tone of our (3 night) stay.... More

Stayed on business trip bed and breakfast. Not very handy for shops or eating places. Accommodation reasonable - room with en-suite and breakfast o.k.

We had to book a hotel at short notice to attend a family funeral therefore our normal choice of hotel in Weymouth was not available. We arrived late and the management were very accommodating in noting our late arrival and letting us in. Good sized room with decent shower/bathroom facilities. A very reasonably priced alternative to the other hotels in the area. Was an ideal place to crash after a cold days diving. Hot showers, clean rooms and good sized English breakfast.
